Pacifica didn’t really know what to expect when she moved into the home of her supposed ‘mother’ and ‘sister’. Just because they were biologically related didn’t mean that she was going to trust them. It had already taken well over a month for them to convince Pacifica to move in.

It was at least a step up from the motels she was hiding out in. But did the bedroom she was being moved into have to be so small?

Sharing it with her sister was even worse. Pacifica held onto her bag tighter. She never had to share a room before. She liked her privacy.

“So I’m just like. Going to have to share a dresser with you?”

Thank god- Mabel felt such relief having Pax at her side, helping her fend off the creepy guy that wouldn’t stop asking Mabel out for a date. She knew she was lovable but sheesh. Take no for an answer hambone!

Mabel coiled her arms around Pax’s waist, batting her eyelashes at the other girl and purposefully speaking in a loud voice. “Awwww you’re so sweet, I’m so lucky to have you as my girlfriend.” She leaned up and kissed the corner of Pax’s lips to further seal the deal. Hopefully it would finally fend the guy off.

While their faces were still close she whispered- “Can you look and tell me if the guy’s gone away yet?”

Yo Preston I did everything you told me. A deals a deal, leave Pacifica out of this.

A smug grin spread across Preston’s face. Good. There was something deeply satisfying about seeing Blue’s stubborn spirit beaten down and submissive to his will.

He was her father after all. He knew what was best for her. But there was just one little thing left.

“Excellent.” Preston leaned back in his office chair. “But I don’t think I like that attitude of yours daughter. Haven’t we talked about you referring to me as your father?” It was a matter of respect after all.

Pacifica clutched her stuffed llama toy as she looked at her surroundings. Even at four, she had always been clever. And right now she was smart enough to know that something wasn’t right. Her home looked wildly different than it was supposed to. She didn’t recognize a good number of the servants.

That made her panic, and begin to wail. Pacifica hiccuped and sobbed as she wandered the mansion to try and find her mommy or daddy. She needed an anchor.

Pacifica saw a face that made her light up and she ran towards the figure eagerly. “Mommy!” She hadn’t seen mommy in forever, daddy said that mommy was gone but she knew her mommy would come back! Pacifica grinned and tugged on the woman’s clothes. “Mommy you’re home! Where’s Blue?”
