Mind if im asking you? What app do you use to make these layout? (Icon and header?). Do you use computer or your phone? And how to edit them? Thanks.
Basically you want a tutorial haha. So sit around and take notes…
First of all you need a computer with Photoshop (any version you want) and internet access and basic knowledge on how to do research and use the PS.
After that you have to decide what pack you wanna do. Let’s say you want a Liam pack. So here is what I/ME, ISABELA do: I go on Google and search for “Liam Payne” (usually I like to use pictures as recent as possible so I search “Liam Payne 2014 or 2015″ but obviously you can use from any year you want) or if you want from a concert or specific day or event or whatever you can go on Twitter and on the search bar type “Liam Payne” and next “the whatever thing he did that he was looking hot as fuck that you wanna do an icon with” (example: Liam was looking hot at that concert in Australia on Valentine’s Day, so you go on Twitter and type “Liam Payne Australia 14.02″ or “Liam Payne 14.02″). So, when I find the picture I want I save it on my computer.
Okay so now is when I open the Photoshop. After that I open the picture I saved on the PS and I resize and cut the way I want it (at the end the picture is 245x245px). Don’t save and/or close the picture yet.
Now you go back to Google to find the header. So for the header I tend to search for pictures that are more than 1280x500px and with colors that match the icon I chose. To search for the header there is like 2934890329 ways to do it, most of the times I search like this: if the picture I chose to do the icon is mostly red I type “red tumblr” and then click on “search tool”>”size”>”large”. That done, I scroll until I find a picture I like and matches the icon. Obviously, save it and open on PS.
Now you have to resize (if the picture width is more than 1280px) and cut the picture (I like to cut 1280x427px).
So now I have the icon and the header. The next thing I do is edit. I use actions, PSDs, sometimes adjust the brightness and contrast, stuff like this and voilà you have your pack!
Few observations:
1. Sometimes when someone asks me for a pack like “Disney Niall” I search for the header first. It’s basically the same process but what I said about how to search a header search I do with while searching for the icon. I don’t if that makes sense but…
2. If you’re lazy and don’t wanna do your own header, you can go on the search bar on Tumblr and search for headers there. But remember to give credit to the account who did the header.
3. When editing feel free to do whatever changes you want. Just make sure the icon and header look good together and not a color mess.
4. The “official” header size is actually 1500x500px, but sometimes is hard to find nice pictures with that size or bigger and that’s why I do mine 1280x427px.
5. Be patient because these things take time. Sometimes I spend like 30 min trying to find a header.
6. I like to edit the icon and the header at the same time so they won’t look like two completely different editions.
