That was all. Packet's fans are quietly whirring, not settled by the answer. But its Matt that tips him over the edge, snapping back quickly.

"An elaborate joke? You put the target on Edith before anyone else had. Every single time you accuse someone in this courtroom, you know very well what will happen if proven correct. You are attempting to kill them. You, Matt, asked for her to be executed. The least anyone here can do is acknowledge your choice to kill Edith tonight."

Packet pauses, then does tilt its screen in acknowledgement towards the culprit.

"I would have preferred to kill Maya. Goodbye, Edith."

That is a shame. Packet liked Edith and it seems like she had a reason for doing what she did. It would have been so much easier for this to have been Maya, to rid of an annoyance. It had feared this was the Curator, and perhaps in some part it was, but it had not worried for the old woman until the end. It doesn't quite understand what she stopped yet, but the words of the Emissaries haunt it much like it haunts another in this court.

Those that wish to stay, would you doom them for your freedom?

Packet turns to the Curator and asks, with all the weight of its dead world on the question.

"What would it have done to us? Those of us that wish to stay?"

There is little certainty tonight. Packet believes it may be Maya.

The Fabricator confirms at least one of his theories. The tourist remains were moved up the cliff and into the cave. It's struggling with the Doctor's testimony about Evan, despite having denied it already. There's no clear answer to which it might be out of the people left upon the shore. Packet isn't satisfied with this, but answers are not always made to be found. The chance Evan isn't in condition means it leans towards Maya and the Curator. It knows who it believes over the other. A machine is not easy to sway once it has made its determination.

"If you are so set on the machine, we already know the pieces were stolen by someone in a white cloak. This was from Anisha and Aurelius. Tonight that is you and Maya, if you've forgotten. And the Curator was with Dante tonight, he would not have had time to craft such a thing even if he had the skill to. None of this clears Maya, so why do you cross her off? Maya admitted here today she was ready to kill, to finish her time here. Her own words! It would not matter if it was Evan, would it? Edith… Now that is simply a shot in the dark, as desperate as Matt's yarn theory. We have no evidenced reason to believe it is her. We are simply grasping at straws."

"Maya's testimony as well was under the influence of the barbital and has been proven overall to be untrustworthy tonight."

Awesome. Edith is so cool. She said fuck this guy and presumably wants to be an immortal knight of the moons, which it finds quite reasonable given she only has a blink left within her mortal life. It is terribly amused and satisfied that Matt who has been so paranoid over itself and Elena finally had someone try to kill him. And, as he had been told repeatedly, it wasn't even them two.

It doesn't respond to that as it seems an ill time to give her four thumbs up, but when the topic moves again to the Curator's version of events it thinks curiously.

"Maya pushed the wax that contained the mechanism and caused the explosion. Then, we have been told, Evan fell. But the only reason we believe he fell on the dead corpse of Dante is because he claims that. Maya hasn't denied it, but..."

"I fell on Dante’s corpse, did you see?" it plays the words in Evan's own voice.

"It's a leading question. He's been very insistent on this point. It would prove his innocence, after all. He can claim both himself and Maya innocent if she plays along with it. Maya herself is clearly confused, which is not unusual for her but may have been exaggerated due to the barbital."

"It's odd that the remains were found in the cave, if it was slain on the shore. There was a long period, however, before the body was found. There was time to move evidence. Now, why did Maya not finish the job? It would be a threat to her if Evan told people of her attempts. I suspect it was because she thought Evan was dead."

"Maya was at a vantage point outside and was under the impression they had just killed Evan. She may have seen the tourist corpse and, knowing she would need to pin the blame elsewhere, Maya moved the tourist remains to the cave to cover her own failed killing.”

"If Dante lived through that explosion, as according to the Curator's events he had not been dead before that, Evan would be the only one within the cave with the chance to kill him. He claims to be conscious when he fell, of course, claiming to have identified Dante as dead. So, there was a period he within the cave and awake."

Maya seems to have quite the knack for getting comical old men to defend her. Dante, Matt, and now Mikhail. It has in fact seen the vision. The similarity hasn't been missed.

"Are you telling me Maya's reason is her inclination towards pushing people to their death? Like it's her hobby?"
