Greeting everyone, so Friday is “Pack the House Art Show” and it the NEW Grand Opening of Horseflower's Creative Hotspot in our new location at 1404 N.Main St. Suite 3 Rockford, IL 61103. Once again I had the chance to chat with one of our artists. This time on the Art of the New I interviewed Drew Eurek. Drew is what you call a expressionist style painter and borders on cubist in his style. Here some Drew's some answers to questions that I asked him in our talk. Lenny: So Drew what is your relationship with your artwork and what is the story behind your work? Drew: I have a lustful intrigue to my work, I like to approach each piece as an adventure to find something new that will play into what my initial idea was Lenny: So what started driving you to make art? Drew: I got started in art as a means to creating a clear image of my desires of that time. What started as drawing things I wanted for a birthday or Christmas grew into drawing and painting the search for atmospheres and attractive women Lenny: So who are some your heroes in art? Drew: My heros are Willem De Kooning, Eddie Martinez, Cecily Brown, and Jackson Pollock Thanks Drew for the one on one chat about you, the artist, I’m sure it will help people see art in a different way.
