Blood was pouring from Marlene’s nose and with a bitter smile, she turned to Alecto. It was a rather odd question, she thought, but her vision was swimming. Everything was odd to her. 

                                                  “I don’t know.” 

It was a lie; she knew who it was. Her family were dead all around her and it was only time before Marlene would die too. Barely out of Hogwarts, joining the Order without a second thought... This was what it had led to. 

                                                 “Don’t let them take you. Don’t - they’ll take little pieces of you                                                   & make you who you aren’t. Don’t... Don’t let them ruin you.”

Marlene’s eyes closed for a few moments, breathing had become too hard. Perhaps she owed Alecto this. This little truth. 

                   “It was Travers. Travers killed my family. He killed me. Don’t let him... Don’t.”
