SVG padding trick

For people who use box-sizing!

So I started to know some real good vantages of using svg (specially because they don’t need hosting somewhere) and came across a very annoying issue:

Whenever I use the icon without background color, everything is fine. However, every time I tried to apply some background, and padding obviously, this is what happens; The icon’s width is decreased A LOT and it’s all small in the center of the background. WHY??? I always think. What have I done wrong? I’m going to live my live changing only the fill color of a svg? Hell no!!!!

But why this happen? 

That’s because I’m used to have box-sizing:border-box on my universal selector for months! That’s make life easier when using paddings, but this is f*** annoying when we have to apply some padding to small elements of a theme.

How to avoid that shit?

You can use normally box-sizing: border-box on your universal select, but in your svg css just add:

box-sizing: content-box; 

And everything will be okay:

Tip on making pillow padding; I made mine by first creating all the padding in foam. Then I duck taped the foam piece and made patterns of that foam. You can re-use the pattern if you're doing more fursuits + I find pillow padding to be way more comfortable and easier to walk around with.

Sounds like a really great idea.
