->warnings; I think there's literally one curse word, but besides that it's a tiny bit of heart break and a lot more of the heart being whole again.
-> summary; y/n and Sirius have broken up, but there’s a lack of answers and an overflow of pain. Why did he walk away? Could he come back? Would you let him?
->a/n; Hi my loves! So, this is my first fic for the 'dream life' masterlist. I have edited it time and time again, never feeling like it was finished or good enough, assumably because it has been so long since I last posted any work of mine. So please enjoy this attempt at a short second chance romance fic, with my favorite fluffy Sirius.
You watch as the water ebbs and flows over the grass lining of the lake. The liquid leaves barely a trace of itself after leaving each time, except for subtle drops lining the green strands. Like tears running down the grass stems missing their everflowing home.
The leaves of the willow touching your back softly move with small gusts of wind. The birds have gone silent and the frogs have come out to make themselves known again. Fireflies grace you with their presence as you keep your attention steadily on the water.
Up and down. Over and under. Coming and leaving whenever it pleases. You have no other choice but to accept its rhythm, just as the water can do no else but follow the moon's rhythm.
Your back is leaning against an old willow tree, the rough feeling of its bark on your back keeping you grounded. It keeps you from letting your thoughts drift to other places you might not come back from.
At one point, the salt water from your eyes joins the soft drops on the grass, becoming one. You can’t see what comes from you and what was already left there by the lake. Quietly crying without any thought has some comfort to it; your body feels the emotional relief with no stress added to the situation. You should try doing it more often.
But of course there are reasons for it. Reasons you are far too aware of. Even when you are not actively thinking about it, your body feels them. Needs to find a way around them or with them. Now, it’s releasing them for a temporary amount of time. The stars and the meadow’s inhabitants are the only witnesses to it. They are watching you twist a piece of paper in your hand. It has visibly been crumpled up and straightened back out numerous times, your eyes drifting back to the parchment every now and then, reminding you why you wanted to run, to hide yourself from everyone on these grounds. Reminding you how he left with no trace left of himself, except for what is in your hand.
However, that loneliness you searched seemed to be coming to an end. The sound of crunching leaves coming from behind you. Interrupting the natural music surrounding you with a life of its own.
“You enchanted the lake again?” A hoarse voice speaks close to you. The boy clears his throat seemingly all too aware of the gratiness of it. His smoking habit got picked up again sometime last month, but you didn’t stay around to witness it. The scraping of his voice told you enough to know the habit hadn’t been put back to rest.
Without looking back at him, you answer. “I felt like this place could use some more magic.”
“You wanted to live here, you know. Magicless.”
“That’s not why I wanted to live here, and you know it.” You respond before looking back at him. Sirius is standing a few feet away from you, his hands in his pockets and shoulders clad in the signature leather jacket. The intensity of his stare as you finally meet his eyes is unexpected. How weird it is to finally gaze into them once more, after having done so every day for the past two years. What a few weeks can change for two people.
The boy standing before you averts his eyes and lets them drift downward to your hands. You feel the burn of them lingering on the letter. His letter.
His voice comes out softly when he looks back up into your eyes and asks, “why?”
The sound of it is so fragile and delicate, it hurts when it fully reaches you. You stand up and put the parchment filled with his messy writing in your back pocket.
“Don’t leave, please.” He moves a step toward you when he abruptly stops as he notices your posture stiffening. You stand there, awkwardly, with your arms crossed. Your skin feels itself warming up but you still feel the need to keep your arms close. Whenever he’s around, you seem to forget how to keep your distance. That can not happen this time. Not when he is the one who left.
“Okay.” You answer cautiously. There’s no fear other than the one for your heart. The pieces of it are still not healed yet, “what do you mean, “why”, Sirius?”
His expression is pained as he hears his own name leave your mouth. You never called him that anymore, but maybe it is for the better that you do. Distance, right.
“I mean, why are you sitting here with my words crumpled up in your hands?”
“Because they’re the only ones I have left. Because you left, remember?”
The question hangs in the air between you, surrounded by others. Emotions accompanying them. Nothing had been simple these past few months, but seeing him now? The most complicated of all.
Sirius is fidgeting anxiously with his rings. There’s a new tattoo on the right side of his hand, roman numbers of some kind. His hair is a mess of raven black curls slowly falling over his face as he looks down at the jewellery turning on his fingers.
“I didn’t mean to, y/n.” He says while keeping his gaze fixed onto the silver.
You laugh sarcastically in response, “didn’t mean to? So someone made you grab this piece of old brown parchment,” you grab the letter from your pocket and hold it up, slowly becoming angry, “forced you to hold a quill and write these words! Of course. I forgot to think of that myself.”
“Not like that, obviously! I just didn’t mean for it to become… this.” He looks back up and gestures at the air between you.
“Well this,” you respond while waving frantically at the same air “is a direct consequence of breaking up with someone after a year of dating and a year of… something else. On fucking paper”
“I did that because I couldn’t do it any other way! Y/n, do you really think that I could leave you if we were standing there like this?”
“Most people can, so presumably yes.” You respond with a loud sigh, dragging your hands over your face agitatedly.
“Well, I couldn’t have. Because most people aren’t us, y/n.”
Sirius moves toward you at a quick pace. There’s a certain haste, a need in his step. Before you can get a good breath in, his grey eyes are right in front of you. The stormy eyes you once looked into from the comfort of your softest pillow, touching his cheeks and tracing the lines of his chest tattoos. There is no mistaking the same longing in his eyes. You can feel his breath subtly on your skin as he speaks.
“When I’m here, with you, I am utterly powerless, y/n. I could never have left if I had to look into these beautiful eyes and see the heart underneath breaking in them.”
You gulp as his hand gently touches your cheek. The feeling radiating all over your skin. A comfort you hadn’t known for a while now. The feeling of your skin touching, with the rough feel of his fingers from all the years playing guitar, such a familiar feeling, replaces the anger you feel with the nostalgic love you had been trying to suppress since he left.
“I had to leave, okay? But I felt no pleasure in doing so. I promise”
“But why did you have to leave me?” You respond while a tear rolls down your cheek.
“You had every chance to tell me and go, without either of our hearts ending up broken. There was no need for it to go like it did, Siri.”
Sirius shivers at the mention of his nickname. The memories blow into him like a cold wind.
“I just.. I was so scared. We were living together and suddenly we would have these discussions we normally wouldn’t have, sometimes you would cry without me knowing why and you wouldn’t tell me and then.. I don’t know. I figured you deserved better than what I was giving you”
“You broke us up because we were an actual couple?”
“I have never gotten to this point of a relationship, not even remotely close. I thought the crying was because you didn’t feel loved or just couldn’t deal with me, and the discussions that just randomly came sometimes got me to think that, yes, this couldn’t be enough for you.” The boy answers sadly. A soft blush rises on his cheeks as he remembers the reasons he had for causing his own pain and heartbreak.
“My lovely Sirius, that’s all part of a relationship. It can’t be perfect all the time or we wouldn’t cherish it so much as we did. We go through rough patches and fix them together. That doesn’t mean you are doing anything wrong.”
Sirius smiles softly to himself, “I got scared, I’m so sorry y/n. I went to stay at a friend’s place and then I had to go on tour for weeks.”
“But you came back a while ago,” you remember the pain when you first saw him walking across the path to the main house two weeks ago. He had grown a short beard and his messy hair was tied back in a small bun, a cigarette in his hand as he walked between the falling red leaves “you didn’t even look at me when we were having dinner with everyone that night.”
“Because these tours are going to keep coming, which means I still won’t be able to give you all my time, and I still think you deserve better than that.”
“I love watching you tour.. I knew what I was signing up for the second we started dating, with you blasting your guitar in the common room while I was trying to study. You were my rockstar and I was so proud of that.”
“But how am I enough? I’m just winging it. My parents never taught me this stuff.”
“We’re all just winging it,” you smile at him as his fingers tip your chin up “and you make me feel so loved. You write songs about me, comfort me so perfectly when I’m sad, buy my favourite snacks for me when I’ve had a long day and read books I once said I liked so we can talk about them. I love you, you’re far more than just ‘enough’.”
“I have no idea how I survived these last few months without you,” he simply responds while gazing at you “so please, for Merlin’s sake, take me back.”
“How can I know you won’t run out on me again?”
“Because I am telling you right here, right now, that the only thing this time apart did for me was showing me how much I want you in my life. That one day we will get married, have a future and eventually die together, intertwined in our bed. I am forever amazed by you and your strength, your passions and everything that makes you, you. As long as I know that I am enough for you, that you feel my love for you and never have a second of doubting it, I can guarantee that this is it.”
As you light up with a smile, Sirius dips his head down slowly. His lips softly touch yours in a tender kiss, his wild curls falling onto your face. The love in his kiss is tangible, all too real. And it’s perfect. It’s home. Something both of you will finally have, for an exceeding amount of time.
When the two of you finally break apart, with his hands still holding onto your supple skin, you glance at the tattoo again in the corner of your eye. Sirius traces your gaze, grinning when you look back up at his stormy eyes.
“What is that, mister Black?” you ask teasingly.
“It’s the day we met at James’ party. Remember?”
You smile fondly at the memory, “September 25th, 1977.”
“And even though I got this when we were separated, this is just one more confirmation that I don’t want this life without you or a constant reminder of us. Of our love and the moment my universe shifted when I first laid eyes on you.” You trace your fingers over the tattoo as his gaze remains on you, trying to pinpoint your reaction. “IX·XXV·MCMLXXVII,” you read aloud. “I just might get one too.” You smile as you look back up at the love of your life, finally back where both of you belong. Together.
Sirius and you had been a couple for a long time. You both loved eachother, but there were some rules.
The two of you always showed affection with physical touch. For some couples it might be annoying, but for you, it was awesome. You both couldn't keep your hands off of eachother. But, the thing is, Sirius always wants to show the others. And it is sweet of him, but you being an easily embarrased person, being kissed in the neck in front of others could get you blushing hard in no time.
That's why you both started the "No PDA" rule. I mean, you could hug, and kiss and hold hands, but that was it. Sirius had to keep his hands off of you if he wanted more, at least in public. So the days he was feeling extra clingy or needy, it would be torture for him.
Of course you always helped him, but when you were alone. You would do anything he asked for, and you both enjoyed it. He would randomly place you on his lap and kiss your shoulder, or he would lay on top of you and mark all your collarbone with love-bites while carresing your hips. He loved touching you everywhere.
Sometimes, Sirius would also transform into a dog and cuddle in your lap, asking to be pet. He would constantly kiss your cheek if you didn't, and you would end up giggling and laughing. Sirius loved to see you smile and laugh because of him.
You loved that. You loved when Sirius was like this in private, but he wanted to show you off sometimes, so he would make you leave your hickeys as they were and not cover them up, so that the rest of the people could see.
(Also, this is farther into the future where a few rules have changed so the things they do in this story won’t get them in trouble for underage magic)
“Sirius, Castor, Pollux where are you?” I yell, walking into my house.
“Kitchen!” They all respond simultaneously.
“Kitchen, why are you three in the-” My words are cut short as I walk into the kitchen, Sirius giggling while Pollux cleans batter off his face, Castor pulling it out of his hair while Sirius has a toothy grin plastered to his face, watching the boys.
“We made you cookies.” Sirius speaks. I smile at them, hugging the twins and kissing Sirius.
“They smell great, but the kitchen is a mess, guys.” I giggle, rolling my eyes when Pollux wiggles his eyebrows at me.
“Boys, why don’t you clean up and then show mom your new trick you learned today while I clean the kitchen.” The boys quickly run off, leaving Siri and me to clean.
“So, how was your day, other than the absolutely delicious smelling cookies you baked for me.” I question, looking at Sirius, giggling as I wipe the batter off the tip of his nose.
“Great, the boys and I had so much fun.” He waves his wand around, cleaning the kitchen up.
“I’m glad.” I hug him, walking into the living when we hear the boys running down the stairs.
“Mom, mom, look!” Pollux yells. I look over as he transforms into a pitbull, his tail wagging in constant patterns.
“Wow!” I smile down at the boy, Castor grabbing my attention with a bark, a small collie appearing where he stood moments ago.
“I taught them that, we’ve been working for a few months. I figured since I learned around the age of fifteen that they should to.” Sirius speaks, proudly smiling. The boys transform back, sitting on the couch.
“Mom, what movie did you bring home today?” Pollux questions.
“I brought home a movie called ‘The Outsiders,’ one of my all time favorites.“ I respond.
“Ahh, I believe you made me watch that in the early years of us dating.” Sirius looks over the case of the movie.
“Indeed I did, made you listen to me read the book too.” He scoffs at the thought playfully, quickly smiling up at me as he passes the movie to Pollux. Pollux quickly puts the movie, climbing onto the couch with us.
The scene where Dallas is bothering Cherry and Marcia at the drive in appears and the Castor speaks, his words causing concerned looks to paint both Sirius and I’s faces.
“Mom, why’d you give us such weird names.” He looks up at us with hurt, his brother looking at us the same way.
“Honey, we gave you names with meaning.” I speak, looking over at Siri for help.
“Boys, your named after the twin stars in the constellation Gemini.” He speaks up, the boys faces falling into an understanding expression.
“Oh, makes sense.” They say. The boys sit one each side of us, quickly falling asleep. My head rests on Sirius’ shoulder as he smiles down as Castor, simply beaming with pride at the two boys.
“I’m so happy I met you.” I whisper kissing his cheek.
“And I’m so happy I met you.” He replies, kissing my lips. I take a cookie off the plate in front of us, biting into it as I finish the movie with Sirius.

You were sitting against a large tree at the edge of the black lake, It was a bit after midnight and your only light was from your wand. You held your want in one hand, while you had a book in the other.
Reading was the only thing keeping you sane, you lived in a not so great ‘home’ with the pureblood mania etc. You read to distract yourself from the world around you. The only time you couldn’t be lost in a book, in your own little world. Was at the party's your family had for the insane purebloods, so instead, you would just daydream, or sneak a book in any way.
Too lost in your own world you didn’t notice a rustle in the bushes until it turned into a growl. Emerging from the darkness was a large wolf? Or a dog? you couldn’t tell. What you could tell though was it looked angry. Being the sad teen you were, you didn’t care. Turning your head to the animal. “If you’re going to kill me, can you wait a sec’ while I finish this line? Thank you!” You ask as if the dog could understand you.
You expected it to keep coming to you and attack you, but it did stop, but it was clearly still angry and aggressive.
“Thanks bud.” You give a confused smile to it. You get an idea to see if you could get the canine to just go away.
You pick up a stick near you and throw it as far into the forest as you could, instantly the dog ran after it. You chuckle and shaking your head you turn back to your book.
After a few moments, the dog came back, dropping the stick in front of you, it’s tail wagging, it was like it was a new animal.
“Want me to throw it again?” You pick up the stick, the dog bending forward bouncing side to side, very excited. You throw it again, and again he comes back, dropping the stick.
Tilting your head to the side, he copies your action making you smile, slowly reaching your hand out to him, he lets out a low rumbling noise.
“Mate, I’m not going to hurt you.”
He leans forward sniffing your hand
“There you go.” You smile, turning back to your book. You felt a wet stroke go up your cheek.
“You did not just lick me!” You squeak wiping your cheek, the dog looks at you as if teasing you, testing you “Don’t you dare.” You warn with raised eyebrows, but it was too late.
The dog jumps on you making you fall over with an ‘oof’ knocking the air out of you as he licks all over your face.
“Ok, ok, ok! You win!” The dog looks happy with himself. Pushing him off you, you sit up slightly, leaning on your hands to look at the sky.
“You're a pretty cool pupper.” He turns to you and wags his tail.
“Your eyes remind me of someone in my classes. His name is Sirius, you have his scruffy hair too, you know, he always looks so…” You trail off sighing, looking far off into the sky. The dog comes over to you and lays on your lap as if saying to keep going.
“He always looks so...happy, even when we were kids he looked like that, despite his family” The animal on your lap stiffens “We were friends when we were little, I saw how his family treated him...They probably still treat him that way. But then when we got to Hogwarts, he just forgot about me, I’d be surprised if he still knows my name.”
Opening your eyes you see the sun was just breaching the horizon “Crap!” You rush and grab your things “Sorry bud, I gotta go, bye!”
You run-up to the castle, Sirius watching you from the tree.
After a long day of classes, studying, and a letter from your mother, you were back down at the lake. The dog was there, for awhile now you two had basically made a routine of sitting by the lake as you vent or just talk about random meaningless nonsense, it didn’t need to make sense, he’s a dog and probably can only tell what you're saying by your tone, or you putting random things the dog does as signs he’s listening to you.
“Hey bud.” You smile scratching behind his ear, he comes over and lays on your lap. “Wanna hear about my day?” You tilt your head, and his tail starts wagging.
“I got a letter from my mother…”
Sitting in the great hall for breakfast, the owls came swooping in and out, dropping letters to students, your family owl came down and landed on the table next to you.
Y/n,
We got a letter saying you got in trouble yesterday for disrespecting the teachers, I’m not surprised but we were hoping you’d at least have enough self-respect to know when to keep your mouth shut, guess we were wrong.
And you’re failing DA? You’re awfully good at receiving spells, and curses but can’t defend yourself, typical.
I hope you know that coming this holiday break you’ll be making up for these pathetic acts of disobedience.
Y/m/n
You sigh, the dog looking up at you.
“I shouldn’t be surprised at this point, I already know how I’m going to ‘make up for it’ and it involves a particular curse, pain, and lots of humiliation. But I’m used to that by now.”
The dog nuzzles your hand, encouraging you to pet him, as you do. It helps to calm you down.
“One time, my father put his wand to my head and said ‘if you kiss that boy, I’ll kick you out’ ”
Sirius was chasing you around his house, the two of you laughing, it was Christmas, you would be going back to Hogwarts in a few weeks.
He caught up to you tackling you onto the floor, you wrestled for a bit before the two of you just lay on the floor in the hallway.
“I can’t wait to leave,” He said, turning his head to you once you’d both calmed down.
“Me too Scruffy.” You turn your head as well
“Stop calling me scruffy!" He smiles, holding your hand
You laugh “But it suits you! You can’t tell me your hair isn’t scruffy.”
“No it’s not!”
“Is too!”
“Is not!”
“Whatever you say scruffy.” You mess up his hair a bit, before calmly running your hand through it, Sirius giving a content sigh.
Little did the two of you know, your father was standing at the end of the hallway.
“Y/N! It’s time to leave.”
“Coming! see you later scruffy.” You get up, catching up to your father.
“We got back to my house, I’m getting an ear full right as we walk in…”
“It’s not that big of a deal! It’s not like we kissed!” You stood up for yourself, a rare thing for you to do, but you hated it when they had a go at you about your friendship with Sirius.
“And be lucky you didn’t!” You mother added in
“What would you do if I did! I’m already used to all the things you do!”
Like the snap of a finger your father was right in front of you, you had never felt so small. He put his wand to your temple, that’s when your eyes wide.
“If you kiss that boy, I will throw you out that door. I won’t hesitate.” He had such a serious face, you knew he would do it. You could see out of the corner of your eyes that even your mother was shocked.
You fall back against the tree, your head hitting it with a light ‘thump’ the dog got up and curled up on your lap. “My father didn’t let me see him again. You know, I never told Sirius that. I didn’t tell him the majority of what they did to me. He was dealing with enough as it is so I didn’t want to add my issues to that. I think I’ve only told him one thing about them, and it wasn’t about anything serious.”
At this point you had tears falling gently down your cheeks, which the dog licked off your cheek, making you chuckle
“That’s the only time I’ll let you do that bud.” You smile kissing the top of his head, the dog seemed to be smiling at you.
“For a while after that, I wanted to kiss Sirius. To get back at my father...But if I’m honest...I’ve always wanted to kiss him.”
The dog’s ears prick up, his grey eyes looked as though he was thinking. He jumped off your lap and grabbed the nearest stick, basically throwing it at you. “Ow,” You muttered.
You grabbed the stick from your lap and tossed it as far as you could, the dog going after it straight away. You sit back to the tree closing your eyes with a sigh waiting for the dog to come back. You heard something approaching, thinking it's the dog. But before you opened your eyes.
You felt a soft press to your cheek. You snap open your eyes flinching away, looking over to the person kneeling next to you, hands behind their back.
“Sirius?”
“The one and only.” He winked.
“Why are you out here? No one comes down here.”
“Let’s just say, a little dog told me someone needed some help.” He smiled pulling the stick from behind him and waving it slightly from side to side.
You look at it for a moment, your eyebrows frowning as you put the pieces together.
“You’re that dog? But..what?...how?...this is so weird Sirius.”
“I’ll admit it is a tad weird” He sits next to you properly “But y/n I just had to come out and say this. I haven't forgotten about you, far from it actually, I was just too nervous to talk to you again.”
“Too nervous? The famous Sirius Black nervous to talk to someone, are you sick? Do I need to take you to Madam Pomfrey?” The two of you laughed.
“Nah, it was just, after that Christmas when you stopped talking to me, I thought I did something to make you hate me.” He looked away from you.
With a mischievous smirk, you use two fingers to bring his face back to look at you “You know scruffy, I think it’s time for a little payback.”
“Wha- ” He starts but you cut him off when you kiss his cheek, making his cheeks heat up.
You pull back to look at him properly, but he quickly pulls you to him, kissing you on the lips. You run your fingers through his soft hair. When you finally pull apart (stupid lungs needing air) but you keep your foreheads pressed together.
“Your hair is as scruffy as it used to be.”
“My hair is not scruffy!” He fake pouts and you both laugh, leaning into another kiss.
-> a/n; i haven’t written in fucking forever, but i’ve been trying to get back into it so… i hope you like this
dancing in the refrigerator light, the playlist
You sneak down the wooden stairs, tip toeing on the edges, hoping they won’t creak too loud. They’re old stairs though, they creak any way you walk on them. They would probably be just as loud if you just walked loud and proud on them.
But it’s three in the morning, you’re hungry and you can’t wake everyone else up just because you want that glass of lemonade and popcorn so bad. So you try to respect their non hungry sleep and be careful when you go to make your stomach’s dreams come true.
At the bottom of the stairs you lightly step down onto your feet and go left into the kitchen. Humming your favorite song while walking onto the cold kitchen tiles. It’s a warm march night and just the old shirt you normally sleep in is enough to keep you from being cold.
There’s a soft breeze coming through the delicate curtains hanging before the old window, blowing some of the leaves of the sunflowers you keep in the vase before it into the kitchen. You pick the vase up and put it onto the island, hoping it’ll keep the flowers safe for a bit longer. Sadly, they’re dying. But they look dreadfully beautiful while doing so.
Lily’s painting of them is standing on the counter on her cute little easel. You told her about how beautiful you thought they were and she painted them for you when you were cooking lunch today.
You close the kitchen door and turn the stereo on. A low volume, but good enough to dance to. “Stand by me” comes grating through the boxes.
Climbing onto the counter you go to open the kitchen cabinet, in search of the popcorn. Now that Lily is pregnant you try to hide your snacks as good as you can but she keeps finding them. This time you thought you should hide it in the cabinet both of you can’t reach from the ground, assuming she won’t take the risk. Reaching around in the cabinet you finally feel the container you put them in and grab it. Victory.
“What’re you doing angel?” Someone suddenly voices from the door. You turn around. Eyes wide.
“Did you just stuff your face with popcorn.”
He said it more like an observation than a question. You shake your head while quickly trying to get through the full hand of popcorn you just propped into your mouth.
“I’ll be nice and wait for you to swallow so you can deny it with a full correct grammar sentence and everything.”
You swallow the last bit of popcorn quickly. “Thanks!” And jump off the counter to open the fridge to get the lemonade.
“You want some?” You look over to your boyfriend’s now clear face. He really always is standing in the spotlight, even when it’s just refrigerator light. He shakes his head and grabs your hand. His mouth grazes your ear as he pulls you closer and whispers “What if we just danced?”
You respond with a smile and a loving pinch in his hand. “Don’t you think we’ll wake them up?” You answer softly while looking up at the ceiling. James and Lily are sleeping in the room right above you.
“I’ll wake the whole world up just to dance with you, now come on. Give me this bit of joy my love.” He lifts your intertwined hands up and turns you around, catching you in his arms. The fridge’s spotlight shining onto the both of you, complimenting the boy’s years of painful obligated ballroom dance trainings to impress at formal family events or to woo the elite of the wizarding world.
“I love you, you know.” You say as he sways you around the kitchen. He decided that just dancing in front of the fridge wasn’t enough anymore.
You’re twirling around, taking leaves with you and sprinkling popcorn around everywhere he takes you.
Sirius smiles. A broad smile. With teeth and dimples and a chuckle. The whole cute Sirius smile thing.
“I know.”
“You know?”
“I’ve known for a long time. You’ve known even longer.”
“What did I know even longer?”
“That I’ll dance with you even after my doctor has screamed at me for dancing while needing a hip replacement. That I’ll dance with you until the sun comes up and goes back down again and the stars obliterate and the earth becomes unliveable.”
You smile. “I didn’t know, Siri.”
“Now you do. Now you know I’ve loved you for forever.”
