The darkly dressed Englishman loomed over her, cold and calculating as he took in her youthful beauty. He smirked. “You don’t. You, my dear, are to be the bait that draws my enemy to me. After all, even Basil could never be cold-hearted enough to let someone as precious as you remain in the hands of someone such as me, no matter how little he personally knows you.”
Tutu shuddered in discomfort under his gaze, but didn’t turn away, continuing to glare back at him determinedly.
“...You do realize that I have no idea of whom you’re referring to, don’t you?”
This man had captured the child of the king of the light spirits and was using her as a pawn in some kind of rivalry? She started struggling against her restraints, feathers fluffing out in helpless frustration. This would be so much better if she was at least upright...!
“And when-- oof- when this ‘Basil’ does come to rescue me? What then? And- might I at least be permitted to sit up?!”
