Guess Delly was too popular to sit with Katniss and Madge at lunch, but I want her and Madge to bond over her. Got those gal pal vibes. In fact, Katniss used to think about how all the girls wanted Gale (derogatory), but according to Delly, everyone wanted Katniss, too.
Peeta wasn't unique, is my other takeaway here. Under different circumstances, Katniss could have been friends or in a relationship with anyone brave enough to make a move. Peeta just got lucky that the Reaping made that move for him.
There's a certain way I talk about the things I don't talk about. Maybe that's true for all of us. We have ways of closing off the conversation so that we don't ever get directly asked what we can't bear to answer.
