You realize that if the Mayor cares about money, then they get nothing by killing you. You decide to call their bluff.

There is a pause, then the Mayor laughs a very fake laugh.

You look down and notice the almost hidden hinges on the floor of the jail cell and the telltale scorch marks. Apparently the floor can open up and drop prisoners into an incinerator on the floor below.

You don’t like it when they call you “Mags” that was a nickname Cal gave you. It sounds like an insult when the Mayor says it.

So it seems there is something they want other than money, and if you agree... you get to go free?

For some odd reason this feels like a trap but then again you might just be paranoid.
