what: verify that '@' is not in a line, while allowing the line to be empty.
why: validate a field for a pageflex document that i was revising. i'm a bit dumbfounded as to how they could have arrived at such a messy solution. they apparently didn't understand how negated character sets work, but managed to do a negative lookahead. #smh

what: verify an input is a number between 2 and 20 in a system where you can't do gt/lt comparisons but you can do regex for some reason.

why:Pageflex storefront doesn't provide constraints on any of its interface elements. Instead you have the option to validate any entry with regular expressions, which isn't exactly the most intuitive way of going about things.

what: matches any numeric input that is within 25-500 inclusive.
why: because PageFlex is awful and doesn't have an option for adding minimum and maximum tolerances to input fields but for some reason supports regex validation. i know, it shouldn't exist.

The existing project file upload utility will continue to be supported in a manner of speaking, but it simply won't work when your device is running Microsoft .NET version 4.5 or later. Since Windows 8 requires .NET 4.5...well, you get the picture. All workarounds fail, requiring you to use the new FTP method. It's better anyway.
