Hal and John get into an accident while responding to a call. Hal has orders from Dr. Wayne to stay overnight for observation but Hal, on the other hand, doesn't like to follow orders.
“Is this really necessary?” Hal’s words are muffled around the thermometer that is placed in his mouth under his tongue. The hospital gown is next to him and in silent defiance Hal has decided not to put it on. Because, putting it plainly, he’s not staying.
Bruce takes the thermometer from his mouth, reads it, and lays it aside. He places his cold hands- which Hal tells him, every time he touches Hal’s skin-on the inside of Hal’s wrist, feeling his pulse. His blue eyes flicker up to acknowledge the paramedic’s question. ”You were in an accident, Hal. Overnight observation is standard procedure at Gotham General.”
