Ang Lamig Ng Ulan
(Neon x Reader)
You separated in terrible terms, pursuing your research with Kingdom as Neon left the same company.
"I'm telling you, (Y/N)! They cannot be trusted! You knew what they did to me, well, what they tried to do to me. Imagine what they'll do to you?!" She asked as you sighed.
"I know the risk, Nic. But this is the only opportunity I can get to change the world. I can try to change Kingdom from the inside for the better. I understand you're concerned about me, but only I can do it." You calmy say only to meet her furious face.
"Kingdom's corrupted you to be their lap to sit on! What's wrong with you?! Since when did you prioritize work over me?!"
"Nicole, that's not what I meant--."
"Well it feels like that when you say it! If you care so much of that cesspit of a company then be my guest! Leave!" She yells, pointing towards the door as you stare at her and sigh, giving a sad expression before taking your travel bag and pulling it outside of your shared house.
"I'll call you when I get back, alright?"
"I don't care." She hisses, crossing her arms and looking away from you before you heard the taxi beeping outside the green gate.
"Good-bye, Nicole." ===
"I shouldn't have said that." Neon wailed as she cried in her curled up position at the corner of the room. The electric fan buzzed as it shifted its head side to side as the words she said filled her with guilt.
"I'm so sorry, why did I say that?!" She cried, shaking and pulling her hair in frustration as bits of electricity crawled up her arms.
"Please come back."
===
"Did you really break up with them, langga?" Her mom asked as Neon shakes her head, chewing the overcooked beef steak that her mother cooked as the television blinked from a telenovela to the news.
"You still have a chance, Nicole. Just apologize to them and give them the space they need, I'm sure they'll forgive you. They understand your point of view well and really didn't mean to upset you." He dad says, patting Neon on the shoulder before earning a smile from her.
"Yeah, I still have a chance. They chatted to me that they're finished with the project and will be coming back soon. I think it would be best if I apologized up front." She says before her mom pats her on the head.
"That's good to know." She commends before their attention shifts to the news."
"Breaking News! This just in from New Mexico. A Kingdom research facility was attacked by unknown assailants. The assailants shot the radianite reactor, causing the site to explode."
"Isn't that where (Y/N) is based?" Her dad asked as Neon's breath became quick, in panic, false hope and fear.
'Please tell me they survived. Please, I couldn't even say sorry.'
"The assailants are still on the run and the number of casualties are redacted by Kingdom official--. Ah, New Mexico Police just authorized the release of the casualties. All scientists based within the site have been killed by either the blast or the effects of the radianite fallout. Kingdom sends their regards to the families." The news reporter says, a grim expression on her face before the broadcast ended.
Neon could feel the electricity rise in her as pure sadness and outrage fueled the sparks on her body.
"No... This can't be happening..." She cried as her parents stare at her, unable to give her the hugs or comfort she needed. They too were saddened and shocked by the sudden disaster that came about. She dashes out of the house, meeting the stormy sky as she runs to towards the beach, not to far from the corner.
The rain cried along with her as the memories of her and her loved one flashed before her eyes. Whatever she remembered, it was right in front of her and she was guilty for throwing that away.
She trips over a coral on the beach, falling and tumbling into the wet sand of the empty beach, screaming in pain and sorrow as the thunder and lightning crashed in the gloomy sky above her. She got up to her knees, shivering as she tried to keep her breathing in tact and to calm her nerves down so that she doesn't overload again.
"Why did I let you go?" She mutters under her breath before feeling something nudge beside her. It was her brown ascal, Lito Boy. The dog barked before licking her face, trying to calm her down as she laughs sadly.
"Thanks, Lito. Go back to mama sa, I want to be alone for a while." She said as the dog barks and runs away from her, heading to the house. She looks up at the sky as the rain kisses her skin coldly before closes her eyes.
"I'm sorry."
