I know you usually have both MC and Paimon time travel back to the begining... but how about if only Paimon time traveled?
We would get a deeply traumatized, feral, and very angry Paimon.
The last thing she remembered before passing out from her wounds was holding a too still and not breathing MC.
The blood beneath her friend's head slowly spread ground, the cavern they fell in after being chased by the Pyro Archon and Natlan warriors was so cold... so... so dark...
Everything hurt... "M-MC... please... w-wake up... don't leave Paimon alone..."
But MC doesn't wake up, for they had long since departed this cruel world of Teyvat... and Paimon... she finally passes out... only to wake up to light, completely wet, and a worried voice asking if she was alright.

First things first... she needed to get MC out of Mondstadt, get away from what started everything. But where can they go?! They can't stay in Liyue! Not with the Adepti roaming about, and it was still too close to that fucking Bard!
Inazuma is also off the list, Sumeru... fuck no, Paimon wasn't letting that cowardly radish get into her or MC's head again!
Fontaine is also a no, and Natlan is also big fucking no! She and MC never even made it to Snezhnaya, and it terrified her how that could've gone, so also no-
