Hey, hon!
I was wondering if you could write a lil' one shot where the reader is going through bad pains and aches and tries to keep working as usual while trying to hide her discomfort from Levi, but he eventually finds out and takes care of her?
My body has been in absolute ♡pain♡ these past few days and some comfort sounds amazing❤
Thank you in advance! Your writing is genuinely so STUNNING 🥰
Levi Comfort for Pain
A/N: Thank you for requesting! And I am so sorry you aren’t feeling well, I hope you feel better! Let me know if I can write anything else to help. I know it helps me when I’m not well to get some good ol’ comfort from a comfort character lol
Warnings: full body pain, panic attack
Every day it was getting harder and harder to move. You weren’t exactly sure why your body was turning against you, causing you aches and pains whenever you tried to move in the slightest, but no matter what you did the pain did not cease. No amount of medication or rest took the pain away, so you decided to live with it. You didn’t let it stop you from going out on small expeditions with your squad, or let it stop you from going to training.
The only issue is that you were afraid your captain, Levi, would find out. With other cadets, he would make them keep training until it made them drop, but he took a liking to you. You were the last of his original squad and you two had been through thick and thin together. If he found out how much pain you were in he’d surely make you sit out until it went away.
“Cadet L/N!” You jumped slightly, startled by the voice. You had been helping Connie and Sasha stack barrels of horsefeed for your afternoon chores. You were struggling to move them do to your pain, even tearing up because it hurt so bad. You were taking a break, sitting on one of the barrels when your captain snapped you out of your thoughts.
You slid off of your barrel and soluted to the short man. “Yes, Captain?”
He eyed you up and down before speaking again. “Are these barrels too heavy?” He asked.
You gave him a confused look. “No, why?”
“Then why are you struggling to move them?” You froze in worry for only a brief second, but Levi noticed your hesitation.
“I’m just sore from training,” you said quickly. “It was rough yesterday.”
He gave you a sceptical look before walking away. “Stretch before bed. It’ll help with the pain.” You nodded, even though he couldn’t see you anymore.
That was a close one, you thought to yourself as you got back to work.
The next day was even worse than the one before. You were training on ODM gear and it was straining your lower body. Your hips ached and your legs throbbed. When training was finally over you hit the ground, rolling. You laid on the ground and cried, letting out a sob.
"Y/N!" People started to crowd around you, making sure you were ok.
"Everyone, move!" You heard a voice scream. You saw a path form between the crowd in front of you and suddenly Levi was there. He looked worried, kneeling beside you. "Cadet, are you alright?" You cried, shaking your head. Pain coursed through your body at the movement. "What's wrong?"
"Hurts," you sobbed. "Everything hurts." You squeezed your eyes shut and pressed your hands to your eyes.
"Everyone get back!" Levi snaked his arms under you and lifted you up. He carried you away from the crowd and into the captain's quarters. He kicked open a door and laid you down.
"Cadet, you need to tell me what has been going on," He instructs. You were too caught up in your pain to answer. Levi noticed and forced your hands away from your face. “L/N, breathe, ok? You’re panicking and I need you to calm down.” He started to coach you through various breathing techniques to help calm you down.
“There you go,” he soothed. “That’s it, breathe.” You took a deep breath, wiping the tears from your face. Levi looked at you until you made eye contact. “What is going on?” he asked softly.
You hesitated to answer. Levi noticed your silence and gave you a stern look.
“Cadet. Answer.”
Your eyes moved around the room. “Is this you’re room?”
“Don’t change the subject.”
You released a shaky sigh. “I haven’t been feeling well. Not ill, but I’ve been in a lot of physical pain. I didn’t want to tell anyone because it would keep me from training, but nothing I do helps. Every day it just gets worse.” Levi looked at you with sympathy.
“Going through your day as normal is going to make it worse, hon.” Levi never called you hon, only when he was worried for you. He moved to sit beside you on the couch he had laid you down on. “How bad is it? 1-10?”
“Most days, an 8,” you said quietly, afraid of your captain’s response. Instead of scolding you like you thought he would, you were surprised when he pulled you into a hug, resting his chin on the top of your head.
“I’m sorry I didn’t notice any sooner,” he apologized. His voice wen softer, “I need you to tell me these things, ok? What if this happened while we were out on an expedition? I can’t bare to lose you. Now please, let me help you.”
You teared up at his words before nodding. “Thank you,” you whispered. The two of you stayed like this until Levi finally released you.
“I’m going to go start a warm bath. Stay here,” he instructed. “If you move even an inch, you’re going to be Hange’s assistant for a month once you’re better.” You giggled at his words, slowly lowering yourself down onto the couch to lay down again. Your body hurt a little less when weight was taken off of it, but it hurt just enough to render you sleepless.
“It’s ready when you are. Here, let me help you.” You sat up when Levi returned minutes later, taking his hand and leaning against him as he lead you to his bathroom. “I made it extra warm, but it should help your muscles relax. I’ll go grab you some dinner for when you are done. Take your time hon.” He stopped just before the bathroom door, giving you your privacy.
Truth be told, the water did help the aches go away slightly. You could live in the bath forever, except now the water was lukewarm and your hands were becoming wrinkly. After getting dressed again in some clothes Levi had left out for you, you walked out to see Levi sitting at the small table in his office. There was a plate of food sitting across from him, along with a steaming mug of tea. Various pills sat on a napkin next to the beverage.
Levi got out of his chair to walk you to the table. “I went to Hange for the best pain relief medicine. And this tea should help with the pain as well.” You slowly sat down in the chair across from your captain. The two of you took your time eating, making small talk every now and then.
“And you’re staying in here for now,” Levi commented as he stacked your dishes together. “You’ll be staying with me so I can keep a close eye on you. I want to help with the pain as best as I can, and I can only do so if you are with me.” He gave you a soft smile. “Come now, let’s get you into bed.”
You followed him into his bedroom yet stopped in the doorway. “Captain, I can’t take your bed. You need your own rest. Besides, I usually don’t end up sleeping. It just hurts too much.”
“It’s nothing different than when you stayed here after our first major squad fatality,” he said quietly. He pulled you gently to the bed. “You’re in pain, just in a different way. Let me help you. If you were to go back to your room and woke up in sever pain, what would you do, hm?”
You gave in, sliding into bed next to your best friend/captain. He was warm to the touch, relieving some of your pain. You let him hold you as the two of you started to drift off.
“How are you feeling, hon?” he whispered, sleep laced into his voice.
“Better, thanks to you,” you admitted. “Thank you, Levi.”
A/N: I hope this was to your liking, or even helped in just the slightest. If there’s anything you’d like me to add, or another way I could help you via my writing, please let me know. I’m here to help in any way that I can and my DM’s are always open! ❤❤
