DEATH METAL ZOMBIES (1995)

From SOV pioneer skate boarder and metalhead Todd Jason Cook . The man that brought you Evil Night and Demon Dolls. Step aside DeathGasm these guys are not acting they are true metal fans and some of them are also probably true zombies. Imagine if Darkness a Vampire Version has rough sex with the Heavy Metal Parking lot documentary. Great soundtrack had me double drum peddling all the way through, I feel its more Thrash Punk then Death Metal but hey Im a freakin nerd so what do I know. Cheesie dialogue especially out of Todd Cooks mouth alone. Cooks ex wife shows up to look hot , which is odd that they were married as they look so young I feel it was in their parents house but they were married a few years already, its just so shocking for people of this day in age to see young metal heads able to afford a nice house let alone one at all, but its 1995 baby. One of the metal heads crew wins a prize on the radio to get a special cassette tape from their favorite band Living Corpse that has special single on it that.. you guessed it, turns them all in to demonic flesh eating zombies controlled by an evil metal wizard that wears a cool skull wrap around design t shirt.. fuck yeah boooiii! Gore gags that would make Andreas Schnass pretty proud , enough long hair to remind me of high school while being filmed mainly in Cooks bedroom and backyard.

My fav part is early on when characters Tony and Brad are talking about the radio competition. It so feels like its going to cut into an after school special anti drug PSA. So odd.Also spoilers ends in an internet reference and a nixon mask killer that looks like it was shot some time later. Downloading mp3s in 95, was that a normal thing yet? I cant remember anymore . It was so long ago... Im so old. Or is it this pain a thon of doom Im on thats making me lose my mind... who knows... who fucking knows dude?

Pain a thon 2020 ends with a blast.

Light Blast (1985)

Still a B movie but biggest of the night if only for the explosion budget and the price of has been tv star Erik Estrada which at the time was still giving it a go. Basically a terrorist scientist has made a super laser and thretens to blow people up unless his huge demands are met, he fianaces a bunch of goons that look like 70s porn stars and its up to cop Erik Estrada to get em. Along the way we have like a million huge dangerous car chases, everyone gets shot, pretty much all of Estradas friends get shot as well as several already dead bodies in a morgue, way to go Erik. So many people get set on fire often by Estrada. At one point Estrada shoots a gas tank beside a guy to set the guy on fire AND THEN shoots him. Overkill.. well duh. This is like a PM entertainment movie before they were a thing. Plot schmot just vroom vroom bang bang. Im cool with it. The gimmick of the movie is the evil scientists laser weapon is special, if it shoots liquid crystals (like in Marquee signs and stadiums or even digital clocks) it causes a huge heat bubble around the area that melts steel and even bones in seconds. So you get all these epic yet ridiculous scenes of people time lapse melting. Opening scene two people are doing it on a train so you get a melting train and melting nudes to kick the movie into pace with some funky saxaphone soundtrack. The blood squids are so hardcore even when estrade shoots people in the face and the 5th or 6th car chase Etrada is in a stock dune buggy race on the highway then down hill in San Fran... because why not... then boom another guy on fire ,good times.

I dont know really what happened but fuck it, good times. Expect me to drunkenly rant on this on a podcast soon. #

Zombie Love Slave 1997? Hoffman often praises the cheap gore and curvy sleazy ladies of Joe Sherlock movies and yesterday was his Birthday so I had to see what I could do. Joes b day not Hoffmans. Got the film off of his on demand vimeo download page. Check it out you can download lots of titles. Zombie Love Slave was there and its not even listed on Joes IMDB page. Oh dear.. what have I done? It was like 3 bucks to download it so whats the worst that could happen? Ohhhh deearrr... Only really released on a vhs double feature with a movie called Monster in the Garage. Wait this is really a W.A.V.E film deep down. Look up the new documentary on that film company that made short sleazy sorta porn like horror films for the fetish communities. You wrote it and paid them then they would make the movie and mail it to ya. You can orders the hundreds of vhs films they made but they are crazy expensive. Regular in their films is Debbie D (if thats your real name mam) and here she is in this movie too. And oh wow is it ever sleazy. Zombie Love Slave? Are you sure thats love? Oh myyy.. well I guess that is a zombie and they are getting it on. Not Sexy, Not funny but wow this is something and good its short.

Im sure its sexy or funny to somebody ... somewhere. IF there is a thing there is a fetish for it... so they say.

Ok I mean its not a WAVE film its just one of Joes first short films and Debbie D is the intro which is just her as a dominatrix talking trash to the camera for a few minutes. Super Awkward. Then its a random zombie attack as a geeky guy (I believe played by Joe himself) is just sitting in his car reading a porn mag and fantasizes as we cut to random scenes of woman talking dirty, then back to the zombie attack happening around him. I was expecting some zombie sex and there is one scene which is exactly the comedy you expect from seeing the cartoon cover as shown. But that’s about it. Kudos for calling the zombie kids in the credits simply as the zombie kids. I honestly love this kinda home made schlock that you know they confused their friends with acting roles. The download came with other shorts I guess I will save them for later. This is definitely underground film making being completely gutter filled. Good for them. HA! The What the fuck award for the pain a thon is gonna go to this, I doubt that can be beat. But its was so short I now have time to spare.. hmm better get food. WE have a live streaming to do later today, I may have to stall or add something on at the end.. but what?

Alien Force (1996)

One of our fellow Riot at the Movies buddies suggested I watch Biohazard 2 The Alien Force and in my search for such a film I found a movie just called Alien Force. What do you know this one made in 1996 is directed by fellow group member Ron Ford. Wowee Wowee. When I saw the first few seconds I knew I needed this film to start the Pain o Thon of Doom 2020. Lowbudget movies that do what they want to. The first few seconds are simply a scene in the dessert with Burt Ward acting as a mystical messenger telling our soon to be hero Trace what the mission is and basically the entire point of the movie in 33 seconds. It looks so much like a scene from one of Donald G Jacksons RollerBlade Seven movies. Post opening credits with a song that is so almost Alice n Chains it could only exist in 1996 we then cut to a girl being harassed by a psycho gang in the ugly city streets. This still looks like a Roller Blade Seven movie but the psycho gang is just that little bit more designed and seem just a little bit more like real actors. Then our space traveling hero Trace shows up in the city and he throws out some impressive martial arts but we seen what budget issues cause to a guy who knows how to fight. Ends up looking like power rangers meets the room which the decent fighting actors limited by limited cameras and access to safe locations. But this is what makes a great bad movie. So much passion and chance taking while having no money and at that point very limited skill. Extremely dated in styles due to most of the actors just being real people and tight on the love for X files and pop culture of the time. Basically Trace is a human alien come to earth to track down an evil green alien who has been disguising himself by possessing actual humans. FBI agents get mixedup with it as well as a young woman with an spunky attitude that helps Trace track down the alien and stop him from using the deadly weapon he has. Oh look its Mark Sawyer of Eyes of the Werewolf and the hilarious Randal Malone of Mark of Dracula and Dahmer vs Gacy. I must give Ron a shout and see if there is a better copy of this as I just watched it on a screener copy on youtube. Id love to screen this to a group of people when the world allows us to gather again. I really liked the evil FBI agents way over the top performance as well as how intense acting all the random walk by actors were being in this pretty backyard Terminator movie.

I also think I need the final scene of this to be in a show I plan to tour next year where i host and comment live on movies that I spoil for you by showing the last 6 or 7 minutes of. Very B yes a strong B type movies that most of the world has not heard off where I show you how it ends and make you mind boggle on how the hell the movie could have got to that point. A show of spoilers that makes you want to watch the movie better than a trailer would even if you know the movie is gonna be a cheese o rama stinker.

Oh did I mention what happens to the people after they have been alien possessed ? Well its friggin hilarious.. so I guess you need to see it now.

When I started doing these pain a thons yearly I was advised of a movie co made by Ron Ford back in 2017 and it appeared in my first book. The movie was Alien Agenda: Endangered Species and its may be the reason I love doing these all day post a long and love bringing up fairly unknown movies. When I posted my review of Alien Agenda: Endangered Species I got an email from a complete stranger that was so exited that I wrote about the movie because their roommate was in the movie and they were always told no one ever saw it. It was such an odd message to get that I felt from then on I had to reach out to underground film makers and let them know.. in the creepiest way possible.. we are watching.. dun dun dunnn.

Hallucinations (1986)

The home made shot on video movie that the Polonia Brothers almost never released. Made at home when the folks were away at age 17. This is what SOV is all about, weirdo artists doing what they want and half making it up as they go along. Weird all the way. With Todd Smith as their third brother, probably cause grew a bad teenage mustache like the brothers, making him look kinda like Jeffrey Dahmer. I wonder what happened to Smith as he was in all their unreleased early stuff and in major release was only seen in Splatter Farm. Originally the only way most people saw Hallucinations was as a bonus feature on the Splatter Farms collectors dvd. Scenes from Hallucinations are used in SplatterFarm, mainly the scene where John... or was it Mark.. poops out a knife and cuts there but hole up.Anyways three brothers (one adopted) all start to hallucinate insane events driving them crazy as they are stuck at home on a night that never seems to end. Artistry and weird and legit the young John and Mark Polonia act more intense in this then most of their movies.

They made a lot of movies. If you dont know of the back yard film maker legends of bad movies called the Polonia brothers I feel you need to look them up and I ask what brought you to reading my stuff if you didnt know. Fair enough. Its like a home movie you just found made by legit crazy children. I actually liked it even if no effect looked real at all it didnt matter. This is art who cares if you dont get it. Lots of coughing up blood until magically Mark Polonia loses his teenage mustache to save the day... no seriously I feel thats what happened.. I think? Anyways like I said this is art , art with fake wood paneling all over the place in a part of American so warmed by snow plows and tuques you'd think it was Canadian.
