“I’m sensing...” They closed their eyes, and held a meditating pose for several moments before opening their eyes suddenly, gasping. “You’re a bit of a bitch!” They gave the other a sad nod of approval. What a dork.

“Oh, I’m not from around here,” Vi chimes in. She’s leaning against the counter of the soda fountain in the humid Southern diner. “My sister drove me out here so I can spend some time with my grandparents. They live on a farm. They have a bunch of pigs and chickens and stuff.” A friendly smile is plastered to her pallid features. Her sickly pale countenance sticks out like a sore thumb among the sun burnt truckers and farmers in the establishment. “You from around here? Or are you on a trip too?”

❝Do you have any recommendations?❞ She asks the young woman while picking up her son so he could better see the various ice cream flavors. Since they haven’t been to this particular parlor before she doesn’t think it would hurt to get the other’s opinion.
