A good place to start before you begin any oil painting project is to mix your colors to create a chart that shows you all the tones you can get out of your colors.

For the image above, our base colors are going down diagonally from left to right. The upper portion of colors are mixed together normally. The bottom portion has 50% of white paint mixed.

In the end, the chart will show you a wide range of tones in your base colors.

Acrylic swatch chart. Supposed to be skin tone mixtures, but some colors.. maybe for other-wordly beings? Which leads me, my first vaccine dose finally stopped hurting. It was more aching than expected. The 2nd dose happens to be on my birthday since the other 2 days are booked. Not that I have anything planned, but woo me.
