When I was a kid I read this book about a boy who got taken by a giant Golden Eagle, lived in its nest, and rode its back around the sky. I don't remember the name of it (and somethings are better in memory anyways, especially YA fiction 😜😓). Then there is the classic Rescuers Down Under movie by Disney with the amazing giant eagle that the boy rides on. So you might say I've always wanted a huge feathered friend to whisk me away.

This is a mixed media piece created with charcoal, ink, acrylic and watercolor. Giraffes have gentle eyes and an intelligent face. Their height gives them a unique perspective on the world, but also a better view of the sky! The realistic black and white giraffe mixes with the roughly painted blue sky.⁠
