This is my newest painting. I spent more than 1 week to finish this, but finally it’s done this morning. The subject here is my music box back in 1998-99. My mom got it from door-to-door book sales people, which was one of the ways kids get their books back in the ‘90s.
The set had a music box and 2 books inside, along with a bunny plush (It still kept here in our house), but the music box didn’t last long; it broke in August 1999. The books was with me until we donated it in 2006, and the stuffed bunny is still kept in our hope chest.
It’s a good thing my mom remembers the tune of my music box. She at first forgot that I had one until I made her search on it via YouTube. I don’t remember the tune of my music box, but my mom does so she told me that she bought it from sales people, selling bundles of books for a low price along with her cook books.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures with it, but I remember seeing negatives that the music box was among the “background extras” in our room when we used to live and rent a house in Marikina.
My mom suggested that if I record the sound of the music box so it’ll help me remember the days of me as a baby. But this painting looks like a treasure already to me and my collection of my own artworks.
