Oct. 2ed: Old OC
Stories under picture, as usual.
This is Paintink, he used to help shaping the mountains and rivers in Galaca. But now that the work of creation have been done, he has made himself the professor of “The College”, teaching mostly mathematics and sometimes art. The College has been called “The College” since forever, and Paintink doesn’t seem to be interested in giving it a name. Starry Arca (his coworker, or technically his boss, during the creation era) tried to convince him to give the college a proper name. But none of Starry’s suggestions stuck with him. To Paintink, “The College” is simple and straightforward, just as he likes it. Everyone knows what The College is. There’s only one college in Galaca. There’s no need to give it any more description.
At times, Paintink might be the only professor in The College. There were others, but they never stay long. His students, no more than fifty per class at any given time, are animals of Galaca. (Note that the animals in Galaca are intelligent creatures and most of them are capable of speech). Most animals are busy with their life. Farming, crafting, working, hunting. Most of them don’t think about learning calculus. Not that he can blame them, the animal’s spirits often have a hard time comprehending these abstract concepts, let alone using them. Starry gave the animals easy lives. There’s no repercussions for missing out on some irrelevant knowledge. Paintink is just glad there’s still those who can, and wants to learn what he has to offer.
His students are a bunch of wholesome souls. Usually forty-ish of unnamed ones, and a few named ones. The unnamed ones comes and goes, it’s hard to tell if any of them were able to complete a course. Only the named ones can be officially enrolled, since they can stay longer. No matter their origin, the students all learns to love their inexpressive professor. His classes are slow, enough for everyone to absorb the knowledge. The concept of unit circle took Paintink a whole week of classes to explain, and the vectors took a little longer. Any questions asked will be answered, any problem given can be solved. The animals spend an hours or two each day to learn, and their other times are used elsewhere. They all have their own talents outside of the classroom. One of them belongs to a lineage of candy makers, so Paintink gets some as gift quite often. However, Paintink is not the biggest fan of sweets, so most of the candy goes to Paintink’s younger brother, Painthue.
Painthue is more lively than Paintink is, and, in Paintink’s opinion, Painthue is way more of an artist. Painthue’s creativity is unbounded, but whatever patience Paintink has, Painthue has none. So it’s a bit of a headache to plan a trip together.
“I want to go to the beach! I heard that NightSun is performing again.”
“Really? It’s been awhile since she’s been on the stage. When do you want to go? I am free after the fifteenth.”
“She’s going on stage tomorrow! Can we please go? I’ll help you grade the problem sets!” Painthue is swinging Paintink’s hand back and forth while doing the puppy eyes.
“If you help me grade the problem sets, then sure.” Paintink paused, calculating the time, “Come help me at five p.m., then we can leave at seven. Also, the next time you want to go on a trip with me or something similar, please schedule it a few days before it happens.”
Painthue will not remember this.
Fortunately, Paintink is able to get around Painthue’s spontaneous activity by establishing a few rules. The rules basically set a time of the week when Paintink would be fully available for Painthue to hangout. Any other times still needs to be scheduled. The rules worked out alright.
Note: he can code reality of Galaca and has a digital pencil that helps with it, but he never mentions it. He can also teleport to anywhere with the coordinates like using Minecraft commands, he also never mentions it.
