In a dystopian future, a fugitive robotics researcher has her life turned upside-down when she's rescued by a mysterious android, one with apparent free will, no recollection of her origin, and...an overwhelming love for cute things?

This is a promising start to a manga full of frilly dresses, violent, perspective-heavy mid-air action sequences in cyberpunk cityscapes, and women with large guns and lovingly-drawn doll joints. If you are in the specific subset of readers who like the idea of partially-human women covered in blood-substitute blasting the hell out of each other while debating their own agency and personhood, Pairing Gear will feed you well, which is why it's my yuri rec for July 2026.
