My cat has been unwell this week and she is my whole world. So, if you can think some positive thoughts for my kitty, that energy would be deeply appreciated. <3

Just had another vet visit, still no conclusion and I am having to monitor her closely. It's so stressful seeing your pet unwell and not knowing if you're doing the right things by them. Not to mention how expensive it all is. I just really hope she scaring me over nothing and all that happens is I end up poorer after all this. I can't even entertain the alternative.

Finally got her test results back. She has a bacterial overgrowth that was likely triggered by an immune response to her existing diet and the vet is inclined to think of it as a potential precursor to IBD.

She's always had a sensitive stomach since I adopted her from the shelter, and over the last two years I've tried a lot of different diet options. The challenge is that she's also incredibly fussy about flavours, so finding foods that work for both her gut and her tastes hasn't been easy. For now, though, she's on a prescription diet that she's tolerating well, and she's improved significantly over the past week.

Going forward, managing her condition will mean being even stricter about her diet and food choices, along with the probiotics recommended by the vet. Not that she wasn't already on a fairly controlled diet, but we'll need to be even more careful from here.

As you can imagine, all of this is very expensive, but it's my responsibility as a pet owner and part of what I knew I was signing up for when I adopted her. So I'm definitely not asking for money. I just would appreciate continued positive thoughts for my girl as she heals, and as I do my best to adjust her diet to meet her changing needs.

It's fantastic to see Hakusensha recognise Friend Girl Friend's digital popularity with printed editions of Volumes 1 and 2, releasing on August 20. Even better, each volume can be ordered from Melonbooks with an exclusive acrylic stand featuring Yuuki and Asaka (here and here).

There are some genuinely great series under the Hana to Yume+ Original label, so here's hoping more of them receive high-quality releases like this. While I generally prefer reading WLW comics with adult protagonists, this one feels like the perfect introductory series for queer young people browsing the Hana to Yume site and looking for a romance between two young women with a believable everyday premise.

It's the kind of story I wish had been around when I was younger, but I'm also glad I get to read it as an adult, knowing it'll be a solid gateway title for some young(ger than me) readers out there.
