More Lights On " Daag Duniya Ne Diye"
"दाग़ दुनिया ने.............. सिराहने से मिले।"
Kaif Bhopali is famous for his song in Hindi movie "Pakiza" i.e. "chalo dildaar chalo chand ke paar chalo" which means lets go my lover beyond the moon" but there are many ghazals written by him one of which I am discussing and learning through it. "Daag Duniya Ne Diye" is a ghazal of desire,of longing for love,throughout he was complaining about his lovers unkindness to him,he said that he is wounded and suffering for liking her. In next couplet he explains that she made him flutter and met with others regularly. He said that she met only when forced by others an indication of her meeting with him at only on his funeral. He said that he had kept all her letters under his pillow and felt it difficult to forget her.
