Walking around a forest was painfully dull. Durante knew they needed to find this Halsin guy and get these tadpoles out of their skulls, but couldn't they be a little...Quicker about it? Instead, he was scouting an area with the paladin, Valaena.

"Hey, what did the goblin say to the hobgoblin with a limp?" He asked, trying to pass the time. He barely waited for her to reply before saying "why are you hobblin' around?"

An atrocious pun he heard in a tavern once, but at least it was something else other than birds chirping.

Besides, they shared a camp with a vampire spawn and two ticking time bombs, so a little teasing was hardly a concern. Besides, his brothers could be far worse growing up.

by the time @palaedins healing lay upon his injury he felt an even softer touch cover his fingers, blinking up at the other tiefling in awe, a flush of rose covering his face for a fleeting moment until he was back on his feet and dusting himself off.

Astarion looked up at her from his seat on the ground by his cot. "Darling," He placed a hand against his chest in theatrical umbrage.

"Me? Hide things from you? Ahaha," His silvery stuttering laugh struck through the air, breaking up any tension that might have been between them moments ago. "I'm flattered you think I could manage to get anything past your keen, not at all annoying and overbearing, watchful eye." He smiled in a way that seemed to acknowledge that they both knew he did in fact, have his own share of secrets, but that she would just have to be okay with not knowing.

"Why, I doubt if I could even sneak a midnight snack without your immediate detection." He cajoled her, as if he didn't regularly sneak out of camp at night to do just that.

Alea raised an eyebrow, dropping the goblin she'd just impaled on her knife. She preferred her bow and arrow, truthfully, but sometimes that wasn't an option.

"What, that it's over?" Alea tilted her head, frowning slightly. "Personally I could have done with a little more bloodshed."

What were paladins good for if they couldn't at least take out a few grunts while they were on the front lines, after all?

To randomly be seized and hoisted up like he was a mere sack of flour was not something he had expected in that moment. And in some regards, could be seen as slightly humiliating, given his ego. But, he would attest now was not the time nor the people to allow his feathers to get ruffled, so he merely folded his arms and gave a smiling scowl.

"Ha ha, very humorous," he said. "Yes, we can pick up the wizard. Now, kindly set me down."

To say he was surprised to have his feet leave the ground was an understatement. He blinked, brows raising a bit as he looked at the paladin and gave a bit of a laugh, resting an arm around her shoulders.

"Usually the bards are saying I'm the one sweeping people off their feet, not the other way around," he jested lightly. "But you've made a point, you can put me down now."
