Today’s Flickr photo with the most hits: a panoramic view from the Bahia Palace, Marrakech. to the left you see the minaret of the 12th CE Koutoubia Mosque.
It was built - and repeatedly extended - in the latter half of the19th CE, by the Vizier of the Sultan. It subsequently passed to the Sultan and is now a heritage monument, used occasionally for state functions.
