When Emily heard the news of her friend being severely injured, she begged her parents to go and see if he's alright. Despite her worsening condition, Emily's parents granted her permission to visit him as long as her Aunt Ellen was aiding her. Emily and her aunt take a carriage ride hours after hearing the news.

Within minutes, the two arrive at the mansion. Aunt Ellen helps Emily step out of the carriage and helps her to the doors, knocking on them a couple of times.

How Emily became ill

As a child, Emily would get sick the normal amount as any other child her age and recover the normal amount. At age 10 she met a low class girl named Geneve, who was living in a newly run down shack near Emily's home. Emily discovered it and her while exploring one afternoon. With her kind nature, Emily became quick friends with Geneve and would visit her every few days. Geneve was 13 and lived there with her parents after getting kicked out of their previous home because Geneve had a severe case of consumption. Despite Geneves warnings to Emily to stay away,not wanting to infect her, Emily kept on visiting. This went on for almost two months until Emily's brother, Oscar, caught her one day and threatened to tell their parents if she saw her again. Not wanting to get in trouble, Emily stopped visiting without so much as a goodbye and slowly forgot about her temporary friend. That is,until years later when Emily started to develop the same symptoms.
