I was listening to the radio on TV. Angelo Palmones was interviewing a couple of officers - one from the Philippine Army and another one from CMO.
A segment of the show was about the Army's Project Shoebox. This project started last 2012 and has been helping school kids since by donating school and hygiene supplies (sometimes shirts and slippers) packaged in a shoe box.
What I loved about this project is how it easy it is for anybody to donate. If you have books from elementary and/ or high school, why not bring it in a shoe box (big enough for the book/s) to the nearest 2GO outlet? This is totally free (unless you buy your donations).
Let us donate. I am sure this is not the only "good-will" project out there but this project deserves to be known. The army distributes these fast.
According to the radio show, the Army is mainly distributing the donated goods to school children in Eastern Visayas where the destructive Typhoon Haiyan hit land first.
Please give Prject Shoebox some time and thought. You will help a child in his schooling. Share this project as well. Let's spread the word.
