Eliza had stayed out with the girls a little longer than she had meant to, so by the time she got home Bob had already left for work. Due to the nature of his job he worked evenings. Eliza decided that she would make him some dinner to make up for not getting to say goodbye. She wasn’t exactly the best cook in the world though, so she decided on a salad. You couldn’t mess that up at least. 

Sorry I missed you. Dinner’s in the fridge for when you get home. Love you x 

Eliza hadn’t sent Bob a text in months, and she couldn’t remember the last time that she told him she loved him. But she did. Truly she did. 

Bob wasn’t quite sure what to think. I mean things were getting better, but that seemed a little hasty. Were they really at that stage already? He pushed that thought to the back of his mind and dismissed it as nerves. He couldn’t quite stomach his dinner when he got home though, so after nudging the food around on his plate for a while he tossed it into the bottom of the trash to not upset Eliza and went up for a restless few hours sleep before his new workout alarm would rouse him.
