I feel this expression and this moment just was hitting Pomni that, omg I'm really stuck here with this dental abstractcy who will laugh at my pain.

And when Pomni has her breakdown in hell during Mildenhall Manor, that further iterates how much she feels Caine wants them to suffer.

Caine is definitely aware of this.

Like, Caine probably said this outta nowhere. Usually this implies defensiveness, and in this case also implies it's something he thinks about enough to just, randomly bring up.

okay... after seeing the jester's show twice now... there's no way there's not a chance the harlequin loves the pierrot, right? i mean...

i just feel like what i'm seeing is everyone immediately assuming everyone wants the mc (a version of the angel or whatever) cause it's a "dating simulator" or "yandere simulator" or whatever but

the vibes i get is that originally he believed he was in love with the angel, but then slowly realized it was actually the pierrot and once that realization occurred, that guy was just crazy enough to simply just want his hate

quotes from the jester that make me believe so:

"Who saw the light in the lover's eyes and felt envy gnawing him from within."

(to the angel) "Maybe it's not you that I love."

"Is your eyes on me? Is your hate on me?"

"Oh... Rage... Pain!! I love it... I LOVE IT!"

"The poison? It found that hatred tastes far sweeter than love."

...okay maybe not like... super subtle, but I still feel like the misdirection is there.

also at the same time though, this is only the jester's reaccount of the story. i've gotten the implication from the angel mirror in the ticket taker's tent that her retelling is the most accurate, and each show is their own character's retelling of what occurred which is really neat considering how in the harlequin's show the angel just... disappears. no horrid death occurs.

I like the fact that Zooble noticed when Jax walked off during the beach episode that there was a chance he’d abstract. So in the next episode they told him he had to stay with them so he wouldn’t wander off and abstract.

The gang really does notice these things about each other.

Okay the Jax addressing the “audience” thing is still kinda weird to me, though it’s slowly making more sense.

Like, we know by now that he doesn’t believe everything is real (until later ofc), so what makes him keep addressing the forth wall?

The idea that this is all a show definitely crossed his mind. I doubt he knows for certain that is is a show, but it’s another one of those tropes that people do when they don’t believe things are real.

People jump to, hey it’s all a dream! Pomni checked that one off. People also jump to, ah, this one of those prank shows! Here’s Jax, or at least somewhat. He probably likes to laugh at his joke whenever he does the whole “and what do you, the viewers think?” like it’s an inside joke only he, the only real person not in the prank, would get. Like he’s so smart for figuring out none of this is real and he’s silently mocking the people who are making fun of him.

That could be another thing into the whole peeled Jax thing. Clearly people mocking him and/or laughing at him bothers him (which thing specific thing probably bleeds more into him being vulnerable), so the idea to him that this is all a show about him where people are just pulling a fast one on him, probably really bothers him.
