a package I've been excitedly waiting for has arrived and I couldn't be happier

600g of raw undyed wool and 100g of yellow wool all from Germany :)

it's rough and coarse, but robust

for some reason I love the colour of undyed wool, it's typically meant for hand dyeing, but I like the colour and it's cheaper so win win for me

yarn is from Mährle, I like that you can see information about the specific heard the wool is from, the wool I chose is from a heard on an island in the nord sea

this type of sheep carries a lot of different seeds in their wool coat, which helps preserve the biodiversity of the island

they do not deliver internationally, since it's part of their brand identity to be regional, but it's definitely a brand I recommend looking into if you're from Germany or any neighboring counties :)

lately one of my wips is the Nova Sweater

pattern is the Nova Sweater by the Knit Purl Girl on ravelry

yarn used:

Lana Grossa Meino Seta in the shade 008 (discontinued)

Lana Grossa Mohairlook in the colour 1

and the main yarn is thrifted without any labels indicating where it came from

survived my first tubular bind off!! it took me about 2 hours for roughly 70cm of ribbing, but it was my first time and I noticed myself that I got faster the more I progressed

it probably didn't help that I used a bobby pin instead of a needle because I wasn't home and didn't have anything better lol :)

I was very reluctant to try it because I've heard so many bad things about it, but I quite like it, it's fun once I got the hang of it!! will definitely do it again

the bind off in question, I feel like it looks pretty neat :D

WIP Wednesday update on my holiday knitting, I've now worked the repeat chart 3 times and you can finally see the (mistake free part of the) cables nicely

the colours are throwing me off a little but I'm mainly just doing this to practice cable knitting so it'll be fine, besides who doesn't like a colourful lil scarf

I do think that my stitches are a little too tight on the icord edging but I don't really know how to fix that

the yarn is Landlust die Sockenwolle by Lana Grossa in the colour 313, Streifen/Jacquard

my holiday knitting is starting to take shape (ignoring the mistakes I made in row 3), it's been a bit of a struggle since my only supplies are a skein of sock yarn and 2,5mm straight needles so I had to improvise a little

I used a slightly bent open bobby pin to work my cables, which isn't too bad seeing as I never have to hold more than 2 stitches at once for this particular pattern
