new knitting project affirmations:
- you counted the stitches correctly
- the tension is fine
- the first few rows are always going to look wonky
- you have enough yarn
- it will be easier once you have done a few centimetres
- the tension is fine

Took a sock knitting workshop and am in the process of making my first pair of socks. Using the pattern The I’m So Basic Sock by Summer Lee Design Co. Easier than expected but wanna get different needles, not the biggest fan of the ones I picked up at the local yarn shop
so i am thinking of knitting these socks and using black and purple so that it looks like sandeoki and wooyonyang
Look at how absolutely gorgeous this self-striping yarn my mum got me for my birthday is
ranking heel types (this might help someone decide which heel to use)
pictures in order: regular heel / boomerang heel diamond heel / afterthought heel
aesthetically (best to worst)
boomerang heel
afterthought heel
regular heel
diamond heel
difficulty (easiest to hardest)
diamond heel
afterthought heel
regular heel
boomerang heel
Check out the whole posts about the specific heels (hyperlinked) to see my reasoning hahah
Now that my mom has worn the afterthought heel socks for a while they look even better
This might become my go-to ngl
I don’t think I’m ever gonna do the diamond heel again
Notes on No Fear Sock Knitting by Denise DeSantis
Oh, I didn't realize this until I started working on this post, but this author also has an absolutely lovely youtube channel called EarthtonesGirlpodcast. I just didn't connect the names until I actually looked at the authors note.
Yippee first socks finally done after being scared of the afterthought heel
My lovely hand knit socks that I wear all the time when the light goes out and heating goes with it because of russian attacks. And my cat. Her name's Luna and she is also cold.
Have a warm day
