#PandoOrBust
After hearing about Pando, the Quaking Aspen tree that is the LARGEST, LIVING, SINGLE ORGANISM on the planet, it has been a life goal to go see him. HOWEVER, i thought he was in another country and i would never get to meet him...
BUT guess what!? He lives in Utah, and that meant I could make a trip to go see him. And the best time to see him, is when he is going into fall colors. So made trip plans to see him this year as a 30 year birthday present to myself... 6 months later. xD
This trip... had so much try to stop me from seeing Pando. 1) friend had to drop out of the trip so i would have to see him by myself, 2) my car's steering pump was leaking for the last two-three weeks and was already being a pain about being done on time for my trip (literally got it the day before my trip), 3) the government shutdown, and got a scare that the national forest might be closed on my arrival (Dx), 4) the weather had a storm coming in and there would be snow falling in his area (and i am a desert dweller who doesnt have snow tires or chains and dont know how to drive in snow) on the second day of my trip and 5) I started feeling sick about 3/4 of the way through my trip to go to my hotel and see him in the same day.
Literally, the universe was trying to stop me from seeing Pando. But i got to see him, i got to hug him and feel like I made a great pilgrimage. The car made it (the trooper 4 banger made it up a mountain!)! And i got to have my life goal come true.
The night before my trip, the new motto was Pando or Bust (thanks to my friend who couldn't make it). Because i put in the time to go to him and wouldnt let anything stop me. xD (probably should have, but PANDO!!!)
