My incoherent rant about Trinity of Sin: Pandora #1

I gave Pandora #1 a shot a few weeks ago, and I don't know if I hit my saturation point on the tropes of women being punished for things they didn't do/weren't responsible for/whatever, but man. Pandora's origin story really tripped my trigger, and not in a good way.

Not only did my coworkers get to hear me rant about it for a good chunk of time at the LCS, but I wrote a "strongly worded recap" - aka a batshit crazy rant - about it.

I'm copying and pasting this "review" so you can see my rant in all of its questionable glory (I do admit that I probably glossed over potentially good stuff because I was so... emphatic about my dislike of her origin).

Pandora: Basically she didn't even purposely open up a box even though people told her not to. She found a golden skull, didn't even know what it was, and TOUCHED IT. That's it. BAM, everything terrible is released, and the Wizards that gave Shazam his powers doom her (along with two others) to damnation and punishment and blah blah blah for eternity.

She spends her time trying to fight the "creatures" she ACCIDENTALLY RELEASED BY TOUCHING A GOLD SKULL BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS, and then one of the remaining Wizards shows up in 2013 all, "Hey I'm dying but I wanted to let you know that we were cruel and you were an innocent woman that didn't deserve our wrath/punishment so WHOOPS our bad oh hey there's a way to stop all the things released you just have to open up the skull with a strong heart and okay I'm dead bye."

THAT'S IT. THAT'S THE ORIGIN.

Oh, and there was a close-up of Superman's chest at the end. FORESHADOWING WOO~

Also, she kind of looks like Zealot from WILDCats. Check out dat original character design!

Sorry if this picture looks like shit. Im just trying to practice this whole “vintage” look thing. This shot was taken on our road trip to Long Beach for Hellaflush earlier this month. Our friends were going to trailer the RWB down to the show, and we didn’t want to pass up the opportunity to caravan with them. Besides, who wouldn’t want to stare at an ass like that for 5 hours?
