Children handing over scans of their faces, birth certificates, and other legal documents, so that this data can be sent to an unknowable and unaccountable cloud, so that an unknowable and unaccountable artificial intelligence program can do age phrenology on the scans of kids' faces, so that platforms on the internet can brand people as "child" and "adult"... Yeah. Ok. You'd need ALL internet users to undergo these unprecedented breaches of privacy in order to even determine who is and isn't a child.
It's not like these private vendors that handle all this data being collected have proven, by way of using the internet as a medium of operation, to have vulnerable infrastructure.
It's not like these private vendors, through those data breaches, have proven to hold on to this sensitive data long after its intended use has been fulfilled.
It's not like images of children online, collected and scraped from the internet by artificial intelligence models, can and have been used to generate child sexual abuse material using the likeness of those children whose images are online.
It's not like, since the inception of the internet, it has has drilled into the heads of children that one must not share any personal information- let alone photos of oneself- to any place or anybody on the internet.
It's not like the people at the head of these corporations, who are funding them, directly collaborate with the government and allow their software and hardware to be used by police, military, ICE, and other agencies. Whose technologies, by the way, has and is used and to commit war crimes in Palestine and Iran, has been used to violate the human rights of US citizens and undocumented immigrants, has been used to surveil and rapidly assess people to determine who is "likely to do crime", so that pigs can preemptively arrest, abuse, and/or deport whoever the Responsibility Laundering machine says is a threat to national security or whatever.
