Warnings: A LOT of fluff!
You waited backstage, biting your nails as you watched Brendon perform The Greatest Show. You knew what song was coming next. You knew what was going to happen next. Nobody in that crowd did. Brendon and Sarah had been apart for a year, and you and Brendon had been together for half a year. You knew it was about time to tell people, you were just unsure if the courage was built into you.
The lights dimmed for a moment, before Brendon started to sing the first few lines of Girls/Girls/Boys. The lights turned into rainbows, people held up pride flags and hearts on their flashlights. It really was a breathtaking scene. You took a microphone from one of the crew members backstage, turned it on and waited. You took a deep breath and ran on stage at the start of the chorus, beginning to sing along with the older male.
You stood beside him and smiled a little as you sang, following his movements and grabbing a pride flag. You held it as you sang, letting your eyes scan along the scenery and your ears adjust to the thousands of voices singing along. Of course, after a few minutes, the song began to end. Brendon looked at you and smiled, wrapping one of his pride flags around you. He looked into your eyes and sang ‘and love is not a choice’ before leaning in and pressing a gentle kiss to your lips, which he held for a minute or so.
You could hear the crowd, alright. Screaming, yelling, cheering. They were definitely happy. Eventually, you pulled away from the kiss and smiled up at Brendon, holding his hand. To your surprise, the older male got down on one knee.
“Oh. My. God.” You whispered.
