Definition: A panorama is a horizontal shot that is significantly wider than it is tall. There seem to be no exact specifications for a panorama, but it seems to apply to any image or video 3-4x wider than tall.
Notes: It is only appropriate to use panorama for images or videos of landscapes, seascapes or other shots attempting to express a great breadth of scope. A close-up of, say a snake, where the image is more that 3-4x wider than tall does not qualify as a panorama.
