Why I Hate Clothes Shopping
I was going to write a whole thing for this, because there are a lot of reasons why I hate shopping for clothes, but I’m going to keep this short and just give you the highlights of my most recent experience when I had to buy some black pants for work.
I have a pair of St John’s Bay convertible cargo pants in khaki for my work uniform - I love them, but it is a little frustrating that size 6 is too small and size 8 (the next size up) is too big.
This is not terribly surprising, but when I had to buy black pants for work, I decided to find a pair from the same brand, since I like them and they’re decently priced (they were like $25 at JC Penney).
I had the same problem when I tried on the cargo pant in black - size 6 was too small, and size 8 was too big. I decided to try a twill pant, to see if I liked the fit better in that style. Turns out that for the twill pant, size 8 was too small, and size 10, while it fits, is ALMOST still too small (while a 12 is WAY too big, of course).
It is no surprise to any woman who has bought pants that she can be two completely different sizes for two completely different brands (like I have been a size 5 in one brand before, but a 7 in another brand), but now it turns out I can also be TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SIZES WITHIN THE SAME BRAND. This was a first for me. And this is just one reason why I hate shopping for clothes.
Jeans shopping
I got really frustrated yesterday when i was trying to find some jeans, plain ol’jeans.
I went to a thrift shop and tried on a pair that were size 20. Toooooooo big.
Go to another store. Try on 4 pairs of 18s. Two of the pair i couldn’t get on. One pair fit but were soo uncomfortable. And the last pair hung in the corner laughing at me.
I know i’m a big girl, i have thunder thighs and a big butt but there should really be some consistency for pant sizes. It seems like stores just kind of wing it.
Men’s jean sizes are simple 32x30 is 32 inches around by 30 inch inseam.
Women’s size are mystery numbers that hold no meaning at all. And a brands size 18 may be another brands 16 and yet another brands 20.
Wtf! It made me so mad that i left the store.
Down to a size 4! Ah so proud of myself. From an 8 to a 4. Almost to my ideal size!! 😍
I don't even know what size pants I wear anymore. I always wear leggings or running shorts
I'm not even here for weight loss anymore. I don't care about the number on the scale and I don't care about what pant size I wear. I have one goal and one goal only. I want to play college lacrosse again and I'm not stopping until I become a student athlete again.
So I finally got a chance to update my measurements
The measurements of my waist, thigh, chest, ect... I've only taken once so there's only one set there but I was able to update my Clothing Size!!
Not a major change but it's a change for sure!!! :D
