I think it shows that the person is insecure of their worth to you, than them thinking you're their possession.

I don't know, with my last ex girlfriend she got really jealous and insecure. Eventually she ended up calling me "tainted" because someone else touched me. (No sex was involved but it was BDSM which was something she had no issues with beforehand and she was never jealous until then but then refused to admit that she was jealous and insecure.) A lot of it centered around the discussion of "well you're mine. Not hers." She would also get upset if she was getting less attention than normal. Even if it was because I was.... you know, working.

Because of the rush it gives, and the validation. Like junk food, it's not healthy, but it can feel v good.

Yeah, but I feel like when they get jealous it means that they either see me as an object that they own and/or don't trust me.

That's kind of assuming human action is always observable and can be pre-calculated. Also there's no actual measure for morality and emotion, in which decisions are often based on.

I dunno if I'm phrasing things correct, but I meant more like, measuring natural phenomena than people's opinions, and those are the things I was talking about where like, if our measurements show something factual, then opinions about that thing become a lot less relevant

like, a lot of bigots use a subjective opinion that minorities are inferior races to white people to justify treating them poorly. but like, from a biological, scientific standpoint there isn't a significant enough difference between races to back up any claim of overall superiority of one race over the others, and so since that's factual, doesn't that make it objectively wrong to discriminate between races instead of just subjectively wrong?

There's no factually correct answer. There's just perception and attempts at measurement in which science isn't as precise as we wish it to be. It's chaos, basically. But opinions are formed regardless, and dialogue always matters.

Well I do know there's a hell of a lot of chaos that makes it nigh impossible to predict outcomes of things, but I dunno, just about everything in the universe operates on some kind of inherent mathematical formula that takes into account all of those chaotic factors like gravitation, intertia, momentum, etc. etc. and so like, if every variable was accounted for and we actually had the time to do the math, we could even figure out seemingly chance things like when a leaf will fall from a tree or what lottery numbers will be drawn.

So if you set your priority as, say, to reduce human suffering as much as possible (which is mine), then in my opinion there probably is one, best solution that would be factually correct, but the problem is that the answer is obscured by all the chaos and we don't have the time or all the information required yet to find it.
