Love languages (Expressing thanks)

This is a 2 in 1 headcanon (BF ONF or S/O ONF and PAPA ONF)

Scenario could be you bought something they wanted for a long time

Or even the moment you let them know that you are pregnant.

Hyojin

Letting a signature look ( ﾟO   ﾟ ) of his while eyebrows raised due to surprise but break into a laugh instantly.(Refer the face he made during Weekly Idol in SS era where Seungjun scares him and the face he made at part 2 of their Berlin adventures where tour at a church dome) Both hands raised up to cover his mouth a bit and then ask you   "Really? /Jinjja ro?" (unconsciously letting out a happy squeal is a bonus). And then reaches out to cup your face before landing a kiss on your lips. Because it is him, it will never end with 1 kiss until you tell him to stop. With happy chuckles, he then only saying Thank you with soft and gentle voice.

Changyoon

He just straight up pauses and freezes lol. (Refer to the BTS video where they got first win lol) Looks at you lovingly. You could notice he is getting teary eyed (due to your effort or the news of he is now a dad). And then gave in towards his bursting emotions while doing his iconic eye smile + wide smile. Says thank you with a trembled voice. Then kisses you at your cheek and hugs you while lowkey wiping his tears.(Bonus you lightly teasing him being a crybaby and he retorts you by “Musun sori yo, Kippeuso gurae/What are you saying? These are tears of happiness!”)

Seungjun

Widen eyes, and with his iconic “Ooh??” (Bonus if he is mouthing it and no sound coming out from him lol) . Then the shape of his mouth turns into a smile, he lets out a chuckle but quickly says his signature “Time.” and pose then nervously ask you if the whole situation is real. Done digesting he could not hold in his smile, if its a gift he could not stop fidgeting it. His one hand is cupping your face while caressing your cheek with his thumb. He then would move to take your hand and holds your hand tightly. While at it he would go, “ Aooh, jinjja,,,choigo ya no/Aww, really you...are the best” then pulls you closer to hug you. 

Jaeyoung

At first he would cover lower part of his face a bit trying to digest. “Jinjja ya? Is this real?” he asks you. Then while smiling widely, he reaches out to your hand and grasps it firmly. Should you two are sitting beside each other, he would pull your hand towards him and place both his and your hand on his thigh, before turning his gaze to look at your eyes. After a few blinks, he would calmly say thank you then open up his arms to let you hug him. While at it he will pats you on your shoulder or your back while sniffing your scent.

Minkyun

Hugs you immediately, happily giggling and wiggling sideways while thanking you. (Not in a harsh motion) Bonus if his feet could not keep still, he might do a mini stomping at the spot before wiggling while hugging you. Your words are muffled by the fabric of his clothes lol. Pushes you a bit to look at you fondly, hands on your shoulders firm but not tightly grasping. Might lift 1 of his hand to brush your cheek with his palm while thanking you. Then could not hold back and hugs you tightly again.  He will kisses your head/hair and the corner of his lips never come down for the whole day.

Yuto

His iconic laughing while covering his mouth (not a long time laugh, just a short woah hahas). Then grasps both his hands together while pursuing his lips trying to digest his emotions while muttering “Majide? Really? (in Japanese)". His eyes gotten even bigger, once he gets his confirmation (the gift or the news) he will open wide his arms and come close to you to give a warm hug. Then only he thanked you. Bonus if he is one hand patting you and another hand raise up to cover his mouth because he could not stop smiling.

Had a quick thought of Papa!ONF returning home after promotional activities and then to find out their still baby child couldn't recognise them. (This is when the child is still very very young. From 6 months to age 2)

It will be funny that they flustered, tried hard to catch the child's attention or even exploding in jealousy when the child clinging over to their mother.

Maybe tried to do a sound over at the child toy/plushie to gain attention

Even bribing the child with fave food and its a funny twist should the child taste had changed by the 1 month so they don't like the snack anymore. Lol

PAPA!ONF headcanons (Dongsaeng line)

Jaeyoung

Dotes the child, but never steps away when it comes to disciplining. Well aware that his voice intimidates some times, so he tries his very best to not go overboard on the loudness.

Another nagger lol

instead of squeezing, he would most likely kisses the child’s chubby cheek

A lot of peak a boos

Speaks to the child with a higher tone. But when he is talking sense towards the child, his tone will be a bit deeper

Repeats what the kid said to show that he is listening. Also when disciplining, he would let the kid to talk (but not making excuse) so that he can at first understand the child’s point of view of thinking.

Literally reacts to every first time of the child

Special note, when his child took first step, he was so excited and cheer out loudly with his “BWAAAAAA---!”. It startled the child and he later shower the child with kisses as apology and encouragement.

When the baby starts walking, he would help out. Letting the baby holding one of the finger of his hands and walk around the living room.

Rather than tucks the kid to bed and wait them to sleep. Jaeyoung would most likely to let his child rest on his chest and lightly pats their back while humming slowly. Then before he puts his child on bed, he would kiss them on their head.

Would read books to the child. And if the child asking “What’s this” he would explain to them patiently.

I think out of the 6, Jaeyoung child would be the fast one to start talking

Same as Seungjoon, high chance he will teach his kid some dance moves. Maybe started when the baby can already sit, he might held their hand and swing along with the song. Jaeyoung is happy when the baby smiles while at it.

I think he will try to be example wise towards his child. If his child being a picky eater, he would try to eat more balanced to show a good example.

Minkyun

If you tell me he would not try to make a slogan and recite it every time he meets his child, I will not believe it.

Could be something like “ Yo, yo yo, who is my favorite man?”

His child finds him speaking gibberish weird language funny

Also his child reacts/recognize his voice immediately. Could be he would always talk to child when they are in the mother’s belly

Strums his guitar and hums towards the child. The child might get very interested at the sound of guitar or maybe Minkyun’s voice. Then they will come over and sit in front of him and stares in amazement.

If the kid starts get hyper (swinging their arms like how baby does when they are excited), Minkyun would smile at the kid while singing towards the kid.

A scenario might be the child already could crawl/toddle, and Minkyun is working on composing in his room but his door is not closed. The child approach him and he noticed (because he felt a small hand patting his arm). Minkyun defo gonna carry the child up to his lap and let the child explore with the electronic piano in front of him.

Maybe try to imitate the note of the piano key his child pressed lol

I do think he is gonna make a song or a few for his child, or even getting a bit of inspiration from the notes his child had pressed.

Even though he knew about 1 piece of snack per day of baby’s snacks sometimes he would spoil his child a bit by letting them having extra 2 more. But with a price. He sees it as a opportunity to ask the child “Who’s your favourite?” 

The child has to answer “Appa/Daddy” to get the snack they wanted.

Also this is the way Minkyun get his child to say the first word, “Appa” 

If the child also happens to have the geeky gene, they definitely going to click when they are being mischievous 

Blows raspberries to the child’s tummy and tickles the child

Feeds the child with many tricks. One of the child’s favourite, spoon aeroplane. (To the extent people are gonna question if Minkyun is having way too much fun “playing” by feeding the child.)

Yuto

The quiet and “I have your back” kind of dad

Not really gonna teach the child dance moves, but if the child displays some talent in dancing, he is going to be supportive

Maybe the child was 4~5, and they might surprise Yuto with learning some dance moves. And since the child has not gotten any proper training, they might just waving their arms and legs while Yuto burst out laughter looking at their child trying hard.  And could not help but feeling his child is cute

It will depend on where his family lives and who is he married to. IF they are living in Korea, he will be speaking both Japanese and Korean towards the child. If lives in Japan, he will be speaking Japanese only.

but i think he still might occasionally mess up by mixing both languages 

He might bring along his child to dance practise when they are more older maybe age 4 or 5. And is happy when he sees his child looking at him and ONF members in amazement and proud look.

Feeds the child attentively

I think he will be strict and follows snack restriction

He might not sing towards his wife confidently, but he definitely hums comfortably when putting his child to sleep

I think he is going to shower his child with plushies, 

Definitely going to take alot of photos of his child.Half of the pictures he take is not of normal life genre, it might look like a magazine shot. As if he is the child’s specialized  photographer.

If the toddler messed up, Yuto might goes “No.... NOOOO!”

PAPA!ONF headcanons (Hyung line)

Hyojin

Would always want to record all the moments of his child. Very good with video-cam. Defo the one who will goes to school events and record the child’s sports day or drama play.

Speaks to the child often and very happy if he gets positive reactions

Is conflicted as he wants to be an affectionate dad but understands he has to be stern on some point.

So when the kid aegyoed/tried being cute so that they can get something, he will lowkey nags while giving in.

But if the kid screw up big time, his stern mode is on because he understands the importance of discipline. Might research and tries several ways of disciplining until the one he felt safe for the kid’s mentality.

Definitely occasionally squeeze the child cheeks. But he is more of the pretending to bite the child’s fingers when they are exploring/tracing their dad face.

Don’t worry if the kid would starve

Sings the kid to sleep and sings to the kid when is requested.

Maybe he sings in the household very often, his partner never needed to buy any classical albums or follows myth of letting child listen to specific songs to develop brain.

Plausible scenario that the child nearly crying listening to his voice. And it surprised Hyojin that the child has such empathy towards the song

This person will defo, out of curiosity, tries a bit of baby food lol (not to the extent of trying out breastmilk tho XD)

He is playful as well so he will defo prank his kid. Maybe during feeding the baby, he tries to back the spoon a bit and then is proud if the baby is sulk while grabbing the spoon and insert the food into their mouth.

Might go “ as expected, my child. You should fight for your food.” while laughing his head off

Tucks the child to bed and then waves to the child + fly kiss before closing the door.

Changyoon

Will try to take picture and record every moment of him and his baby

Defo the one who will cry by the birth of the baby

Cries at every first thing the baby does, the blabbering, the first flip over, the first standing up.

But gets even more emotional when the child takes first step.

Defo the type that tries to squeeze the child’s chubby cheeks and laugh at it. Might even film a short vid and would play the vid to distress himself while working

Will be a bit flustered when the child cries but will tries his best to understand his child’s need.

When trying to figure out what the child needs, he would hugs them and pats their back.Then keep confirming if that is what the child wants.

Cooks baby food

Another prankster but he won’t go too far.

I assume he would be the one who is very weak against the kid’s aegyo. When the kid is younger, high chance he will let the kid to get away with it. Making partner felt he is not suitable for disciplining the kid.

Smiley eyes while feeding the kid, continues smiley eyes while watching the child eating well.

Defo going to play peak a boo to the child (He could go on it for hours if you dont stop him lol)

Maybe will miss some of the child’s school event, but will listen to the child talking about their day very attentively. 

Giving out a lot of praises when he is good with words but when he is buffering, he will give a lot of reactions.

He won’t really yell at his kid during disciplining them, more like trying to talk sense to them but his kid is definitely scared when he is quiet and looking stern. 

Will do extra effort like surf net to improve child care skill 

Tucks the child to bed and reads story book to the child. Maybe gets flustered when the child asks plot hole questions even adult missed.

When the child is younger, they defo has a specialized lullaby. And Changyoon will sing to the child whenever he has a chance.

it will be funny if the child did not inherit his scaredy cat trait at all.

Seungjoon

Very happy at the birth of his child.

When eating out, defo will share the best part of food to the child. Will be happy if the child agrees about best part of food.

I think he would be a doting father until the child becomes 3. Then he starts to get loving and stern.

Will become sulky if the child does not choose him as their favorite person. But with a bit of aegyo he will let it slide.

Rather than its the tendency the aegyo to him, more like he aegyo to the kid so that the kid can act cute towards him. This is the exact time Seungjoon would use the merit of his big eyes to beg for the kid to give him a kiss or a hug.

While listening to the child talking about their day or achievement, always looking at the child with a gentle smile. He wont interrupt the child until the child or mother asked how is his day

PRANKSTER. I can see him scaring the poor kid and then be the one who calm and showering the kid with kisses as apology. But did not forgot to laugh at the kid’s reactions

More towards tickling the child rather than peak a boo

Likes to lift the child high up and then simultaneously laughs together with the child.

When it comes to disciplining, he might also be a stern one. Similar as Changyoon, his serious look scares the kid sometimes. And it will becomes a cue for the kid that dad is angry.

Even though he hates cucumber, he does not like it when his kid being picky on food.

Gently hums nursery rhymes to the kid while patting their back/stomach to put them to sleep. (He volunteers to put the kid to sleep as he thinks it is one of the way to bond with the kid)

Might going to teach the kid some dance moves. Especially emphasizing on Shinee and Taemin.  Might insist to the kid that “you should not get wrong on this part, it is Taemin-sunbae’s part (Idea suggested by chatgroup)

Research on net about child care and also how to communicate with kid base on their age.

A/N : Thank you chat group members giving out some ideas!! Actually there is some ideas provided by chat group but i did not get to back up. Sorry about that😭😭 I do wanna continue more, but I had to sleep due to insomnia last night. Will do another one for maknae line next time.

Just something quick that I flashes through my mind for Papa!ONF

If ONF members were to sing a song /play a song from ONF discography (lullaby or maybe just to hype their kids)

Hyojin might sings and plays Moscow Moscow. I mean, come on, he plays and sings Moscow Moscow for most of vlive. I think he will be repeating a lot of the chorus part. The lyrics that hint about past life have we met? actually matches with dad and kid connection should he is feeling emotional and wanting to romanticize about it. The other song will be I.T.I.L.U, and because its Hyojin, he is going to sing with all his might like no tomorrow. (More like to show his kid he can sing lol)

Changyoon might go for Twinkle Twinkle and doing alot of cute face to make the kid laugh. I think mainly is because Twinkle Twinkle has the original song melody to it so he thinks it's use the song to bond with the kid. Also Changyoon might sings I.T.I.L.U or 86400 as well. Don't tell me the idea of Changyoon singing his chorus part of I.T.I.L.U to the kid and claiming the kid is his one and only star does not make you go "awww"

Seungjun would play Original and bounces along with the kid. Also maybe while he is sing the "I saesang eun~ Aju Jjakgo~" part and hold the kid's arms to do the "Original " signature move. Second close would be Difficult. Would always teach his kid signature moves of dances.

Jaeyoung is hard to pinpoint so I will go with my instincts here. He might go for Message or 86400. Humming while patting the kid to sleep. He will lower the octaves of the high notes but if end up to a beautifully soothing low hums. Belle Epoque is also a good choice.

Minkyun I think him being a proud dad will play all ONF discographies especially those lighthearted ones. Until his kid is familiar with everything. Notable mention, he might plays and sings and dances to Complete while the baby is standing in the crib watching him. I do believe that you are not going against at the idea which Minkyun singing " Ttalyeo kago shippeun i sungan~" while running toward his child with big smiling face.

Yuto also a hard one to pinpoint. Unexpectedly Cactus is his favorite choice to play for the kid, its quiet and less instrument, perfect for lullaby. Similar to Jaeyoung, he will also hums while patting the kid to sleep using this song. When the kid is older, he will play Good Morning or even Good Good with speakers on to wake the kid up.

A/N : this one is just a quick thought so discussions are welcome!!
