DIY Paper Mache Letters: Turning Boxes into Letters

Lucky I found these boxes in the office which are perfect for our decoupage letters. The dimension wass perfect. It wass about 13x10x3 inches. I imagined that just by cutting and folding some part of the box, i can instantly turn them into 3D letters.
I was planning to make letters L-O-V-E so I took four boxes home. BTW, I'm a CCNA and CCVP, and this is what Cisco professionals do with Cisco boxes. hehe..
I drew the letters on the boxes to mark where to cut/fold. The picture below is for letter "O". I used PikNik can to draw the circular edges of "O".
After around 3 hours, I was able to turn all boxes into letters. Letter "O" was, surprisingly, the easiest letter to do and "V" was the hardest. I left the back side of "O" closed because we are planning to put our pictures there. Letter "E" is very special because the entire box was used up - not a part was thrown away. I
The harder part comes next - paper macheing.
My mom prepared the starch glue. It was made by boiling starch in water. TIP: It should be watery but sticky enough. It is easier to apply the glue if it is watery (not thick).
The most boring part - cut newspaper into strips. Interestingly, I used the free newspaper I got from June 2011 bridal fair. We don't buy newspaper anymore.
Apply the glue to the letters using a paint brush. I found that using your hands instead of the brush is much faster and easier.
Wrap the newpaper strips around the letters.
Finally, let it dry completely.
