Can you see those blotchy areas? They are here because the glue of the paper has gone bad. But it’s not as bad as I was afraid it would be. It still makes it harder to work with the paper. I hope it’s just the first page and not the whole block.

Anyway, this has only happened to me with cotton paper. Which is annoying, because the paper is usually much better and also way more expensive than cellulose paper. So, don’t save your cotton paper „for good“, because it might just go bad. Use it.

Went with the orange, and this nib is incredible! Granted, it doesn't seem to love my Clairefontaine paper, but on Midori and Leuchtturm it was smooth as butter and super juicy. Perfect with some Iroshizuku fuyu-gaki!

Nothing compares to the disappointment of getting a REALLY NICE, REALLY PRETTY notebook and finding out the paper is very much not fountain pen friendly.
