Hi, please tag "Paper123" In my mum and myself there is a slight edge of OCD that I have noticed, now I do believe that this could be simply me inheriting her habits and using them, but I feel like my need for organisation and planning is more compulsive, I cannot get through my day if I know I didn't have time to organize something or do something that was part of my routine. Should I go and see if it can be diagnosed? I feel like I would be able to relax more if I had a type of control overit
Hey there love!Noticing symptoms to any mental disorder is super important in terms of trying to get a proper diagnosis. I know you mentioned about getting diagnosed, and I think that is a superb idea, but please don't self diagnose. Self diagnosing is dangerous and can lead to you feeling worse and developing more sever symptoms. Sometimes putting a title on our motives to our feelings and actions can really help you relax in terms of knowing how to deal with it, but please let a doctor do it lovely. I think it would be good to maybe go over what OCD is. OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) is a type of anxiety disorder which has intrusive thoughts and compulsions that are extremely hard or even sometimes impossible to control. When you have OCD, you have some sort of reasoning behind what you are doing and even though it may seem irrational (to someone else but also to yourself), you cannot stop it easily.Of course there are different intensities to the disorder, and it is possible that what you are experiencing is some sort of OCD, but please go see a doctor to find out. If you feel like your compulsions are disrupting your everyday life, you should talk to someone about it. Whether you and your mother have OCD or not, they can help you deal with the compulsions and feelings around them. Please stay safe <3
