Antique French champleve enamel desk set - #desk #deskset #seal #paperknives #paperknife #enamel #ormalu #antique #antiques #etsy
Paper Knives: Beverly and Summer
Participants: Summer, Beverly
Setting: In Summer's office
Time: Around four or five in the afternoon.
Notes: Summer realizes she's missing a vital notebook, and Beverly has it.
OOC Notes: i really suck at starters so sorry
Summer walked swiftly back to her office, her head down. She was deep in thought over many things and it was always this way with her. Summer hadn’t slept in nearly a week and a half, and she was utterly exhausted but her mind never seemed to quiet down enough to allow her to rest. She lit another cigarette and inhaled the smoke deeply as she walked; carrying her satchel on one shoulder and some patient files in her other hand. She was starving, but she’d wait until she was out of West Harbor’s gates to eat, since the food here was always awful and she never had much interest in meatloaf anyway. She strode with purpose through the doors of her office, which was perfectly clean as usual, and she placed the files on the table near the filing cabinet, where she would go through them and distribute them into the locked drawers as necessary.
The brunette rummaged through her mini-fridge that she had installed in her office, and pulled out a bottle of Coke, not wanting to exhaust her supply of booze before she had the chance to finish up her work for the night. She walked over to her large office chair, the heels of her shoes clicking on the birch wood floors, and she sank down into her seat. This was the first time she had sat down all day aside from during patient sessions. She’d been running around trying to keep her head above the water for a few weeks now, and it seemed she was slipping further under. After her father died, Summer had been working non-stop, nights and days, to catch up with paperwork. She had hardly spoken to any patients except a few scheduled appointments, and she hadn’t seen Anders, Leon, or Raine, in little over a week. Leon hadn’t been speaking to her, since she had pissed him off the other day.
As she thought about patients, Summer realized something. Her little black book was missing! She had left it right there, hadn’t she? Summer looked around anxiously, and shuffled the papers on her desk, trying desperately to find that one thing that had all her life’s work in it. She ducked under her desk and checked there. Nothing. Then she stood, and saw a figure in the doorway. That figure was the moment Summer realized she was eternally fucked.
