First chance for me to hear 怕胖團 Pa Pun with the new 2-bass lineup.  Weeman Hsieh is back in the band, with Bo Huang staying on.  =D

I love what they worked out in this song: Bo playing a low register line, and Weeman doing more melodic things with a tone that cuts through very well! One might expect 2 bassists would lead to a muddy sound, but if you work out the parts correctly, (not duplication) it really is impressive. And when 帥哥閃 takes a solo, Weeman can add some distortion or high-eq to his bass tone and serve as rhythm guitar.

怕胖團 PaPun

Just noticed this appearance on Soul Live Box from last month, much more dance rock than the usual pop punk, but still catchy!  They’ve got some synth in a backing track, obviously.

Christmas song from 怕胖團 Papun. This is a few years old, with only 帥哥閃 on guitar/vocals in their recent lineup. He plays a good sad sack, LOL. =)

Some comic relief to help you through a Tuesday... 怕胖團 Papun are everything you need in a punk-pop band: catchy tunes, rowdy guys, a cute girl and silly videos. :D

Finally finished viewing the 怕胖團 Papun set from Rock In Taichung; I was looking for the perfect performance, but then I remembered this is a punk/pop rock thing, so I decided not to worry about it. Their frontman is a bit crazy, lumbering around the stage, almost running into the bass player, guitar amp stage volume always ready to feed back. 0_0 In some of the clips, he comes dangerously close to the bass player. She seems to be having great fun, but her stage demeanor seems almost too refined for punk rock. You know what I'm saying? =D By the way, the drummer also plays for the band Destroyers (擊沈女孩). They played a set at Taichiung as well; I'm guessing earlier in the day, because he still had his shirt on, LOL. Check out a clip HERE. Both sets filmed by Party Star Show YT channel.
