Carpe Diem || Jeremy & Felix
"Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero" – Horace
“Seize the Day, putting as little trust as possible in the next” It was a luxury to live like that, an opulence not even the rich could afford. One could not pay to rid himself of the responsibilities that was thrust upon him by life. But as the young Blanchett stared back into his tired azure eyes in the front view mirror, such binds no longer existed. His restraints unclasped the moment he stepped foot into the pub. It was funny, he could set his mind to just about anything and accomplish it, and for the night his mind was focused on one thing and that was to forget… Forget everything that was bound to drive him off a cliff one day. No more thoughts of his bastard father that cared about his own pleasures above anything else, nor of the girl that ate him up and spat him out the moment she got a taste of him, not even his dear mother would taint his head tonight. For once, he'd drink for the good company instead of his distress. Perhaps one could truly find happiness at the bottom of a bottle.
His pupils dilated upon entering the dim lit bar. It was exclusive and of course only the elite Soc's were allowed to enter. It had a very 1920's feel to it and the backdrop music was only one of its many perks. Mixes of Rat Pack, Latino and Cuban hip shakers flowed through the place, giving it a warm and up tempo buzz. The other perk, which many had favored was the grand collection of bottles that graced the shelves. Felix sat at the bar with a glass of Veuve Clicquot in hand and a cigarette burning up at the side of the ashtray as he waited for the newcomer's grand appearance, almost nervous about what the night had planned for him.
