And So It Begins
Connor wasn't the type to carry around expensive luggage. He didn't even own a suitcase. If he had to plan for a trip it was usually just a camping trip. Inside of his closet was a knapsack that still smelled like campfire. He could only imagine what Morgan might think when she saw the bag. Connor stuffed the bag with clothes from his drawers and toiletry items. The bag's seams were on the verge of splitting by the time he finished raiding is kitchen cabinets. If they were lucky then the trip wasn't going to last more than a couple of days. He couldn't say that with certainty, though, so he tried to be prepared.
An hour passed since Connor had left the diner and he knew that Morgan was waiting for him. On the way back from his house he checked on his shop but he knew that he wasn't leaving behind much. Connor would never reveal that to Morgon because his shop meant a lot to him but he could leave it unlocked and he knew no one would bother to raid it. Still, he locked it up because that's what you're supposed to do when you leave a business behind. Connor wanted to take his time but he knew that Morgan was already in a hurry and if he made her wait it would set the trip off to a bad start. He didn't want that.
Connor pulled into the parking lot and parked right outside of the diner. After having just been inside, he didn't feel like going back in. He didn't give it much thought before he started honking. Connor pressed down on the horn again, holding it there until he felt like the point had been made, and then let go. He placed his hand on his lap and leaned back in his chair. If she needed help with her bag then he would bother to get out but until then he was just going to sit and wait for her. Connor turned up his music while he still could while he looked out of the window to see if he could spot Morgan in the diner.
