Notes: Faye and Quilan meet up after a long time and hopes to get out of their funks.
FAYE:
Faye was honestly looking forward to meeting up with Quilan, since it had been years since they’ve seen each other. The last time she had last seen him, was back in high school and it was graduation. Something that she had remembered and cherished close to her heart. She still wondered what if with him, but knew better than go down that road, though she couldnt help but let her mind wonder. Once she got to their spot, she slipped her hands into the pockets of her hoodie and sat down at one of the benches.
She pulled out her phone, checked to see if she looked okay and pocketed the phone after she fixed her hair.
Tagged: Quinn Fabray & Rachel Berry.
Setting: Studio's Pre-Production Party
Time Frame: Friday Night
Summary: Quinn and Rachel meet for the first time.
Rachel: was having a hard time shaking the nerves tonight. She'd arrived at the party 20 minutes ago or so and had already had her first run in with Santana Lopez. She was hoping that they would have gotten off on a better foot, she wasnt too sure why the other woman was so hostile but it was a little bit differnt than what she expected the first meeting with a costar to be. Rachel was being led around by her manager and being introduced to some of the crew as well as some press that was invited to the party. She felt her manager pull her arm and looked up and saw Quinn Fabray walking towards them "Quinn Fabray" Her manager told her and Rachel rolled her eyes. "I know that, she was nominated for an Oscar last year" she said rolling her eyes at him. She looked up when Quinn and her people were closer and was sort of taken aback by how beautiful the blonde was and missed the actual introduction while she stared but played it off and just smiled as she reached her hand out "Hi, Im Rachel. Its nice to meet you." she smiled politely
Quinn: was making her way in the crowd, having posed for a few minutes for some pictures at the entry, and was getting introduced with people she would probably forget for the most part the next day. Her manager was next to her, swiftly pushing her in the right direction now and then. The blonde hadn't met any of her co-stars yet, though she was expecting the worst now that she knew the reputation of the other girls hired for the movie. Her manager continued to talk with the director and nodded at her to head towards a few people, one of them whom she recognized to be Rachel Berry, one of the ohter leads of the movie. "Berry, right? The Broadway star." She smiled, extending her hand to gently shake the brunette. "I'm Quinn, and it's my pleasure." She replied as she pulled back, raising an eyebrow. "So, how do you like the party then?" She asked, looking at Rachel, who was truly more gorgeous than the few on stage pictures she had been sent.
Rachel: nodded at Quinn's question "That's right." She said as she shook Quinn's hand. "Fabray" Rachel finished for her "I loved your last movie." she added as she realized she was probably holding on to Quinn's hand a little too long. She let it go with a smile hoping the other woman hadn't noticed anything out of the ordinary. "The party is okay." she smiled looking around at the room around them. "Ive met tons of people I know I wont remember tomorrow." she joked lightly. "But its really nice, Im glad they decided to do it. Ive been looking forward to meeting everyone so it's good that they got eveyone into the same place. How about you? Have you met anyone else from the cast yet?" she asked as one of the photographers came over and asked them for a picture together. Rachel nodded and moved in closer to Quinn and smiled brightly up at the photographer. She felt her stomach flutter a bit when she looked over at Quinn for a moment before backing away to a normal distance.
Quinn: nodded with a genuine smile at Rachel's compliment. "Well, thank you." She replied, following Rachel's eyes and looking around as well, noting that her manager still seemed in deep conversation and she chuckled as she looked back at the brunette in front of her. "I know what you mean. I can feel all their names slipping away from my head already." She chuckled softly, biting her lip. "I have met a few of the actors, yes, but none of the leads yet - except you, now. What about you?" She asked, looking over as she noticed the photographer and smiled, instinctively wrapping her arm around Rachel's waist and offering her best Hollywood smile for the flash. She felt her pulse quicken slightly as she realized how she had touched the other woman and pulled back with a light blush on her cheek, thankfully distracted as a waiter passed by and she grabbed a glass of champagne from his tray, nervously sipping on it and wondering what had gone through her mind to manhandle a stranger this way.
Rachel: took a glass of champagne from the passing waiter as well and took a sip before answering Quinn's question. "The only one I've met now aside from you is Santana Lopez....She is... an...interesting personality" she said with a smirk and took another drink. "I'm hoping she gets a little less predatory when we all get together to start." she told Quinn honestly then wondering if she should have even said that to this woman she just met.
Quinn: tilted her head at the mention of their other co-stars, actually interested in knowing more about her before she got to face her. She smirked back at Rachel's comment, sipping on her glass as she nodded, chuckling softly. "I haven't met her yet, but I've heard her reputation. Hopefully, if she know what is good for her career, she will push back the claws and play nice on set. But we'll see." She replied, shrugging. "Do you have any upcoming project besides this one then?" She asked with a small smile.
Rachel: smiled at Quinn's comment about Santana. At least she didnt turn and tell her thats how the movie industry worked. "Upcoming projects? Not really, Im really focused on this. I want to throw everything I have into it and not be distracted with anything else while filming this." She told Quinn then was sort of surprised by the depth of her answer. She didnt know why she didnt just say 'no'. "Ive been discussing an album with my team, but thats a while off" she added at the end still confused by the way she was telling Quinn something she hadn't discussed with anyone else before. "What about you? Im sure you have movies lined up right after this"
Quinn: nodded as Rachel spoke, surprised by how passionate and focused the brunette seemed to be about this movie. As least, Quinn could tell that she would be professional. "That's understandable, hopefully everyone will put all their energy into this." She smiled, raising an eyebrow at the mention of an album. Shrugging, she chuckled softly. "Not really no, I mean I've been sollicited for a few but it's mostly depending on the reception on this one. All the people who sent me classic rom-coms scripts might take back their offer after this one is out, you know?" She smiled, biting her lip. "But I have another movie I'm writing, so we'll how that goes."
Rachel: smiled at Quinn. "I've always wanted to be in a Romantic Comedy. Since I was little." she admitted unable to shut herself up. "Not a bad one obviously, but just one really good one. I think it would be fun." she told her then looked interested when Quinn said she was writing another movie. "Oh really?" she asked looking over at her "How's that going? I really enjoyed the first one your wrote." she said before realizing she was telling Quinn she'd seen allover her moives
Quinn: couldn't help but smile at Rachel's words, biting her lip to keep herself from grinning. The brunette was adorable, and so far, nothing like the diva persona she had heard about. "I'm sure you will get offers for some after this movie, there's no reason why you wouldn't make at least one rom-com in your career." She replied, nodding, surprised that Rachel has seemed to have seen her movies, and feeling guilty that herself hadn't really seen any of the brunette's shows or roles. "It's going pretty great. Although big productions are already trying to get a hold of it, but I think I will stay with the independant producers. After all, they were the ones who allowed to do what I do today and to be here."
Rachel: smiled at Quinn's comment about her getting offered other movie roles after this. "One can only hope." She said with a smile. "I look forward to seeing it, no matter who you make it with. Im sure it will be great. The first one was" Rachel told her then blushed at the fact that she was unable to control her compliments. She decided she should change the subject before she fawned over Quinn too much. "So have you ever sang before?" she asked in a polite tone, clearly just interested.
Quinn: smiled and nodded at the brunette. "I'm sure you'll be the lead of the next big romantic comedy then." She replied, smiling, her eyerbows arching at Rachel'w flow of compliments, surprised that the other woman wasn't like the others who had pretended to see her work but seemed to have really enjoyed it. "Well, thank you for the encouraging words." She said, biting her lip. "Mostly in my shower. But I took some voice and singing lessons for the past month, so hopefully I won't be too awful. Although I doubt that people will even hear me next to you." She chuckled.
Rachel: Turned her head away from Quinn to smile at the comment about her being the lead in the next big romcom. "That's a good start." Rachel chuckled having to work to keep her mind away from the topic of Quinn in the shower. "I'm sure they wouldn't have cast you of they didn't think you could sing." She told her and was impressed that she had been taking private lessons to prepare for the role. "I hear we will all be going though vocal training beofre recording." She mentioned then looked up with a guilty smile. "I'll try not to over shadow you." She told her honeslty "sometimes the voice just gets away from me."
Quinn: chuckled softly, shrugging. "Well, that, or the acting part of my audition impressed them too much and they forgot about the singing part." She replied, smiling. "I've heard as well, yeah. It won't hurt. I mean -obviously you'll be fine without it- but I think I'm going to need it." She added, biting her lip as she took a few more gulps of her drink. "It's okay. You can't apologize for your talent. I'll settle for swaying next to you and looking pretty." She laughed softly as she looked at the brunette.
Rachel: Nodded along. "I'm sure your acting abilities were more than enough for them." She added quickly not wanting Quinn to think she was talking down to her about not being able to sing. "Oh I take vocal lessons still. Every project requires something different and I like to make sure that in ready for that. So I'm looking forward to our training." She told Quinn honestly then smiled at her. "Well you wouldn't have to do much work there." She said about Quinn's comment of looking pretty. "But I'm sure the director won't let that happen."
Quinn: offered a small smile at Rachel's words. "Well, apparently so, since I was cast and I'm here now." She replied, looking at Rachel as the brunette talked about her vocal lessons, making the blonde impressed one more time by her dedication. "You are really as hardworking as I had been told, I'm not surprised." She smiled, biting her lip and looking down as she felt heat rise up in her cheeks at Rachel's words. She had been complimented about her beauty tons of times, and yet, it felt different when it was the small brunette telling her that. "Hopefully not, because despite everything, I'm making that movie to show that I can be more than 'the American sweetheart Quinn Fabray' so there's no point if it's me just standing there." She chuckled.
Rachel: Rachel looked down with a shy smile. "I am very dedicated to my craft." She said with a smile. "I'm always willing to put in the extra time to prefect it" she told her. "I'm sure people will be very surprised by everything you can do." Rachel assured her. She believed it, she just hoped for Quinn's sake that other people saw it too.
Quinn: suddenly felt like reaching out to the brunette and squeezing her hand to reassure her, but she bit her lip, pushing these kind of thougts away from her head as her grip on her glass tightened slightly. "It's admirable, really. You deserve all the praise I've heard about you." She smiled softly. "Hopefully they will be, and in the good way. Oh well, shocking a few people will be worth showing that I can be more than a cute classic all-American blonde." She shrugged, smiling.
Rachel: Smiled shyly and felt her cheeks heat up "thank you." She said with a smile."I appreciate that." She looked up after Quinn's comment "you mean people don't know that from the fact that you wrote a screenplay that was nominated for an oscar?"
Quinn: bit back a smile, looking around the room to try and divert her attention from Rachel, because what she was thinking was definitely nothing that should be on her mind, especially now. "You're welcome." She said, shrugging. "Not that many people know that I wrote it too. And sadly, Hollywood is still too quick to people in cases." She replied, sighing softly.
Rachel: looked over at Quinn. "Seriously? I thought that was advertised with the movie. I knew..." She said confused. "Well... you'll show them Im sure." she assured her. "Yeah Hollywood is an interesting place." She said in an off tone. "I have been challanged by the studio to make sure I am sexy enough. They are unsure if I can pull that part off"
Quinn: nodded, her fingers playing with her empty glass. "It was mostly advertised that way, thankfully. But with the other movie, people forgot about the writing part and just decided I was the new 'it girl'." She replied, chewing on her bottom lip. "Hopefully, it should be different enough to do that." She chuckled softly, raising an eyebrow at the mention of the studio thinking Rachel wouldn't put it off. Her eyes trailed over the brunette before she caught herself and looked back in the brown eyes, shaking her head. "Well, they'll be surprised too then, because there is no doubt you can pull that role off."
Rachel: nodded in understanding. "Yeah I know how that goes, the first play I was in was all singing and dancing, with some real emotional stuff in there. Then when I went to my second all the articles were like 'can she pull off the heavy acting?'" she said rolling her eyes. "So I know how the press can be" She looked up at Qiunn with a more pronounced blush. "Thanks." She smiled when QUinn said she could pull off her sexy role
Quinn: sighed as Rachel talked, knowing far too well how hypocritical and overjudgemental the press could be. "Well, I think this movie is going to be a good way for us to prove them wrong then, and that we can pull off sexy-" She said, pointing to Rachel with a quick wink. "- And singing." She smiled, pointing at herself with a small chuckle. Looking around, she saw her manager nodding at her, and she bit her lip, making a gesture that she would be over there in a few minutes. "Well then, it was lovely to talk to you, Rachel Berry, I guess I will see you on Monday." She grinned as she looked at the brunette.
Rachel: blushed even more when QUinn implied she was sexy. "I think we will do well." she told her then noticed Quinn was being called away. She pouted internally and smiled at the blonde. "It was great to meet you too Quinn, I look forward to working closely with you." she said before realizing what she said. "See you Monday Quinn." She smiled and waved her goodbye. It was a few moments before she realized she was watching Quinn walk away with a smile on her face.
It was just a drink after work with a coworker. One she'd kissed. One she probably shouldn't have been kissing, but who had also kissed her back. The two of them hadn't really talked about what was between them, other than they both realized there was something. She took a few breaths and tried to calm herself down, but that was easier said than done when it came to Q.
She was outside the pub right now, waiting on him. It was in the financial district and there were a lot of suits around, but none of them gave her a second glance. She was glad for that, she guessed. It was still a bit too early for the drunk idiots to be out, even for London. Liv could take care of herself when it came to that, but she didn't feel like dealing with any of that right now. She just wanted to have a nice evening with Q, and to see what would come out of that.
Was she getting her hopes up? It had only been a kiss (a pretty damn nice one) and she wasn't sure if he was looking for more, or if this was going to be a 'thanks but no thanks' sort of thing. God, she hoped not. Though Liv was adamant that she didn't want to get ahead of herself, she did have rather high hopes for tonight. She wasn't sure what was going to happen, but she was looking forward to knowing him a little bit better.
She leaned back against the sign that told of the pub's daily specials and looked up and down the street. Liv shifted slightly and the signboard folded into itself. Her center of gravity gone, she fell back on her ass with a yelp. She wasn't injured persay, but her tailbone was a little bruised and she was attracting odd stares.
