For the first time, Taehyung felt he lacked purpose. He left the dorm that morning without saying much of anything to anyone. To be completely honest he wasn’t even sure who was there or who was already gone. His mind was hazy, filled with all sorts of scattered thoughts, and he needed to go somewhere quiet. Away from all the noisy crowds. The zoo was one of those few places where the universe quieted and allowed him to think. The animals were peaceful, comforting in the way that they were simple and uncomplicated. Watching them made all his troubled thoughts flutter away in the chilly January air along with his foggy breaths. It was the perfect time to go, when most were inside trying to stay warm; for a few minutes the only thing he wonders is how the animals stay warm themselves. Three hours pass without Taehyung’s notice. Time might have completely slipped from his mind for longer if his stomach hadn’t start to growl, angry that he skipped breakfast in his hurry to rush out of the dorm. He grimaced, placing a hand over his stomach as if to soothe the uncomfortable feeling. "Goodbye my friends," he calls out in a cheery, sing-song voice to the monkeys in the habitat before him. They stare back at him, unblinking, for a moment before returning to chasing each other from one end to the other. He slips his hands into the pockets of his coat and begins to head for the exit, humming softly to himself as he makes his way to the bus stop. The thoughts he came to the zoo to avoid are filling his mind again and he starts to worry, afraid that he’s forgetting the reason he was even here, the grief that fueled him to succeed and live a life worth living. Am I forgetting you? His eyes wander absentmindedly as he stands at the bus stop and settle on a woman who had joined him at some point, too distracted that he may have very well joined her at the bus stop instead. The commotion of her spilled drink draws his attention. She looks fretful over the incident, and standing there wordlessly seems uncomfortable now. "Ah—" His fingers withdraw the freshly laundered handkerchief he’d stuck in his pocket before leaving that morning, and he offers it to her with a warm smile. "Here, miss. Maybe you can soak up most of it and no one will notice before you get the chance to change?"
Yeonju very well had every reason to scream though it came out as more of a high pitch yelp. The struggle of trying to garner her phone from he bag to change the song, hold her iced coffee and balance her notebook without placing it down or dropping it proved difficult. The result ended with her finger slipping on the drink and in the event from trying to catch her mistake the drink went toppling over onto her. She honestly was beyond herself with what just happened considering in her head the idea had seems sound and she didn't figure ending up soaking wet like this into the equation. Her features were conveying the surprise but also embarrassment. Hopefully the people around her were paying as much attention to her as she had been been paying to them, which was none until what had just happened.
The approach of the male surprised her in the sense of the fact he was offering to help her and at the same time he looked familiar. "Thank you." she said hesitantly as she took the handkerchief from him mostly because movement was making her catch the wind chilling her in the state she was in. Patting the handkerchief to her clothing as she looked at him with an amused smile, "I think I already failed at that since you did notice me. But oh well, it happens." She continued trying to correct her mess and even taking a moment to put her notebook in her messenger book bag which she should have done from the start. Who ever he was he was surely nicer than she would have expected of most strangers.
