Adriana pushed her hair back for what felt like the millionth time, still dissatisfied with how it looked. She’d been at this for a good half an hour now, the lady attending to her getting more confused by the minute. Almost every store on the block had experienced one of Adriana’s meltdowns, and it was definitely not something they’d like to relive. “Hmm, not this one” she finally sighed, slipping back into the trial room and disposing of the fifteenth dress she’d tried at Gucci and so far— nothing. She’d exhausted almost every attendant they had at the store by making them run circles around her, but that’s how she liked to shop. It was either that, or nothing. Shimming out of the georgette sequined dress, she let it fall to the ground, strutting around the private dressing area in a slip.
"I’m done with shiny, give me something sophisticated. Even if it’s Gucci, everything you’ve shown me so far looks like it belongs on someone who shops at a thrift store, or Forever 21, and I refuse to dress like that on New Years Eve" Adriana flipped her hair to the side, glaring at the short mexican attendant till she finally got the message and skittered off somewhere, a soft sigh escaping Adriana’s lips as she collapsed on the couch, taking a small sip from the glass of champagne lying in front of her. This was going to be a painfully long morning.
A full hour later she finally walked out of the shop, a single shopping bag in hand, containing what she believed was the most beautiful article of clothing she’d ever put on herself. Leaving it in the limousine, she asked here chauffeur to go on back to the apartment building without her, she was in need of some coffee and a walk. Straightening up her white faux fur overcoat, she made her way to the nearest Starbucks, her six inch heeled boots already biting into her skin but that was a pain she was used to, tot he point where even if it drew blood she didn’t notice. Entering the warm coffee shop, the smell of coffee already made half her exhaustion melt away as she got into the small queue, praying to god that her coat covered enough of her face to not be noticed by tourists who didn’t know better than to disturb a celebrity during their morning coffee runs.
Coffee in hand, Adriana finally slipped out of Starbucks, unnoticed, and satisfied. She began her short walk to the supermarket, needing to pick up a few things she’d rather her maid didn’t get for her when she heard a bright chirpy voice appear out of nowhere right beside her, causing her to trip over her own feet and almost drop her cup of coffee. Where you off to, stranger? Adriana huffed, sending him a dirty look before regaining her composure. “Don’t you know that it’s a sin to disturb redheads when they’re walking with their giant cups of coffee?” Adriana mused, flipping her hair off her shoulder. “Oh do forgive me for passing by your place without as much as a thought about what you’d be doing inside” Adriana rolled her eyes, starting to walk again. “So, what brings you out into the big bad real world?” she questioned, not really minding the company.
